You mentioned sailing on the Venezia, hope to meet you, I live in NY and my husband works as security at the NY pier, so he can get you ahead of all of the lines. We love the cove balconies as well, when I was watching I noticed you were in the same cabin as my mother in law and my daughter stayed in on the April 15th to 23rd cruise (2272). My wife and I stayed in room (2270), and we had the balcony divider opened up to make it one big balcony. First time for us having cove balconies. I'm glad you had a good cruise!

We normally sail from the west coast, but a Southern or Eastern Caribbean itinerary is something I would love to do. We love the Journey's cruises on Carnival. Something like that I think would work well, especially considering how long the flight would be for us.

I am really enjoying them and loving the detail and back story. They are quite different from the tV show so it’s like getting a whole new story on the characters. How do you deal with sea sickness on a cruise? Just spent 10 days NCL Getaway Caribbean cruise out of cape Canaveral. Spent at least 8 of those sea sick. Dramamine was not helping much. Did enjoy the islands we visited. Wanting to cruise again.

Hi! I’ve really only dealt with sea sickness once or twice on a very rocky ship. I suggest seeing your doctor a few days before you go and ask for a prescription for the sea sickness patch. It’s a tiny patch that is stuck on your skin behind your ear. You put it one a day or two in advance of your cruise and change it every few days. I see people wearing them all the time and I have worn them for surgery(anesthesia does not sit well with me). You can sometimes get them from the ships doctor but I never have. That is my number one suggestion as well as a cabin as close the the middle of the ship as possible. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. The very few times I have it has really been awful. Hugs

By any chance, have you also been on the Carnival Vista? If so, when and how would you compare it to the Horizon? Aesthetics, experience, food quality. The Horizon is my favorite Carnival ship to date, and I'm going on the Vista and I wanted to see how these two ships in the same class category compared to each other

Hi! Yes, we have sailed vista 3 times. We have vlogs up for all our sailings. And we will be on Vista again in April next year for a back 2 back. The Horizon and Vista are nearly identical. The Horizon has a Guy’s Pig and Anchor & Brewery sit down restaurant next to Pixels on deck 5 whereas Vista has the Red Frog Pub and brewery. Both ships have Pig and Anchor on the side of the ship-outside on deck 5. Both have an IMAX but only Vista has the Thrill theater. The food was the same on both, for us it is generally the same on all Carnival ships. The Horizon in 2021 was our most favorite cruise ever. And this cruise was awesome, too. We have never had a bad experience on Vista. Even the last minute 4 day cruise after an emergency dry doc. I think you will love Vista, too. Have a fantastic cruise!! Thank you for watching!

The buffet on the Mardi Gras post pandemic was pathetic, but Cucina Del Capitano and Chibang were free on that ship, including for dinner, so that helped a lot. We have vlogs of our Back to Back on Mardi Gras... I agree the buffet selections were not great...on Horizon there were about 6-8 selections at dinner and the dining room menus have been changed up a bit with some great new options but I do miss the old ones that are now gone - especially the salmon choice daily. The buffet on Horizon I heard some grumblings from people because if you didn't like the choices you were mostly out of luck. There is always the Deli and if early enough Guy's but gone are the days of many choices on the buffet. Vista is the same, I am sure to cut down on waste.
