That tour was amazing!! I think I could watch whales all day everyday & be content!! And BTW - every time Dee cried, I cried too (Glacier Bay day always brings tears to my eyes - it is so breathtaking)! Loved the small boat excursion & can you imagine living in a town with just 750 people?? The first time I went whale watching in Alaska I was convinced that the cruise lines paid the whales to put on a show for us - it was an incredible shore excursion & we saw so many whales & they kept getting closer to our boat!! And back in 2008 on my birthday (May 15th) I got the best present while eating dinner on the NCL Pearl - whales were swimming alongside the ship!! I’ve also witnesses eagles swooping down & grabbing salmon & one year in Juneau we saw a momma eagle sitting on the top of a three story building (her nest was in a tree nearby) and she just stood there posing for all of us as we snapped pics!! Alaska is a miraculous place! Did Favor go with you on this excursion? I have been catching up on her vlogs - seeing her amazement going up in the Space Needle!

Hoonah was such a cute town, and we loved having the small boat excursion out to the whales... they were definitely showing off that day! Rob & Favor booked a whale excursion through the ship on one of the catamarans, and they did go out to that same area with the three whales, because we were coming in as their boat was headed away. We actually filmed a little snippet of their boat departing as we arrived at that site. I think she said they weren't quite as playful when they were out there, but we're curious to catch up on her vlogs as well!! :D

We live in North Carolina so making the drive across country we will be able to see some of the places we want to see most on the way to Seattle and then take off on an Alaskan cruise. Thanks for sharing. Just watched this and like Dee, it does bring tears to the eyes. When my family did an Alaska cruise in 2019, on our whale watch through the ship, we didn't see any. We planned another Alaska cruise for 2020, well, you know. We're planning to go in 2023. We will defiantly use this charter company. Thanks for the recommendation.

My wife and I are doing an Alaska cruise next May on the Miracle. We've been watching your videos and the ones from Life with Favor as well. You guys have us so excited. I was looking for something for us to do in ISP and Trip Advisor kept pointing us to do whale watching here. Glacier Winds was highly recommended as THE whale watching tour to do. Great footage of the whales. Back in 1996 when my husband and I went to Maui. there was 2 whales that come up to our boat and played around for a long time back and forth under neath the boat. I have it on vhs tape. wish I could figure out how to put it on youtube so I can share it. You are right small groups are way better less people in your way. The whales stayed at our boat and we had to wait for them to leave and it put us later getting back. We were parked in a 3 hour for our car and we got a parking ticket. I belive it cost us 35 dollars. But it was worth it, at least it didn't get towed.

Oh nice, folks keep saying that there are tons of whales in Hawaii, so we're excited to eventually cruise there as well. I'd say it was definitely worth the $35 ticket, ha ha... :P

WOW that is the best whale footage I have ever seen. I was at Icy Point last year and saw whales, but none breached like you saw. Maybe this year next month on my cruise I have a whale watch in Akureyri Iceland.
