Quick question--can I pay to snorkle but Stat on the boat? I have a 16 yr old son who wants to go but I don't want him to go by himself. I want to accompany him on the boat when we get off the Carnival ship but don't want to actually snorkel.

Yes you can pay to snorkel and just stay on the boat!

How are they on the weight limit enforcement? I saw a couple people who I think more than likely exceed their limits in the video. I want to book but I'm over 260 and don't want to spend money for nothing.

I don’t recall there being a weight limit but maybe there was. They didn’t weigh anyone. And I’m definitely a heavyweight and was fine lol. I’m guessing the weight limit is moreso for the life vest. They require everyone to wear one. So if you are too heavy you might not fit it. I’m guessing if that’s the case then someone heavier could just pack their own life vest (amazon sells them for plus size). But I don’t think your weight will be an issue at all.

Yes they required the life jackets the entire time. And there are multiple vessels that go out so not sure about restrooms but this one had a really small one.

Swimming isn’t required. One of my nieces can’t swim. You’ll use a flotation device and they’ll strap you to a rope that you can pull on to get back to the boat. They were very supportive!

I already booked the cruise with carnival liberty. How can i pay for diving as well ? I would like to take this adventure too i am not good on swimming but i love it😅

You can book this snorkeling tour directly on Carnival’s website. I believe it was called 2 Reef Snorkeling Tour or something like that. It was a lot of fun!

Have you ever encountered a shark while on such an excursion? I would love to go snorkeling but I think I would freak out if a shark was near me.

No shark while snorkeling BUT once we were in a submarine and there were snorkelers near our submarine. Not too far away there was a shark 😲. It did freak me out and the next few cruises I only snorkeled from the shore lol. And I’ll be honest- I haven’t snorkeled from a boat since the story broke I believe in November of a lady killed while snorkeling in Nassau. That still has me a but freaked out and my hubby doesn’t want me to go snorkeling like that again. It was an unfortunate event, but extremely rare. I love snorkeling and will get back to it soon.

It wasn’t hard getting off the boat, but it was a little more challenging to get back on - but still not that bad. There is a short ladder- maybe only 4 steps. Because my legs are so long (and I’m on the bigger side too), I found it easier to put my knee on the first step to help me pull up- rather than needing to get my leg all the way up there. And the team on the boat was very helpful the entire time. Hope this helps! ❤️

Yes that fish scared! This excursion was accommodating to those who could not swim or who were not strong swimmers (like me). Snorkeling is one of my fave things to do!

Yes and yes. They provide the food and you can bring your own gear. But they do require you to wear a flotation vest. They said it doesn’t have to be inflated but must be worn. Enjoy!

@@MHFamilyAdventures ha ha, sorry, we are very experienced SCUBA and shipwreck divers taking the Carnival Liberty, so its fun, but too short and a very tame excursion. But its great for folks that dont' get to snorkel. Great video and thank you for posting.

Girl me too!!! I’m getting used to it now though. Start with shallow water snorkeling so if you need to get up and go you can just stand up and run 🤣. That’s how I learned lol

RacQuelle! Listennn... I can so relate to your throwback first attempt at jumping into the water from a boat... I freaked out years ago when I jumped into the water from a boat in Bonaire. Allan and one of the guys from the boat helped me to shore. Whew, girl! Looking up swimming lessons again, right now...

Hey great content Im going to the Bahamas in November would you suggest booking the excursions through carnival or waiting until we get there and book with the locals

If you are a newer cruiser/traveler I always recommend booking thru the cruise lines only because there are added benefits such as not getting left if the tour runs behind, satisfaction guarantees and such. If you are a more seasoned cruiser/traveler you should definitely book with 3rd party vendors because they are cheaper. I use shoreexcursioneer website or shore excursions group. You could wait til you get to the port and try to talk down the price with the locals, but you risk excursions being sold out.
