My wife and I did the same cruise on the Miracle in 2023 as well. Had an absolutely wonderful time. We had such a great time, we’re going back in May of this year only on the Carnival Legend,

Thank you for sharing your Alaska cruise. The highlight for my wife and I was excursion to the Sawyer glacier. The calving was amazing. Having a drink with glacier ice looked awesome. My question is which excursion did you book? We see whale watching and wildlife excursions but nothing about observing the glacier. We are booked for May of 2024 and would love to experience that. It’s was an excursion through Carnival while we were in Tracy Arm Fjord. The excursion was limited to a fairly small group because of the smaller ship sizes and they will sell out. I will say it was difficult to find the excursion because it was incorrectly labeled as being out of our embrkation port, and not Tracy Arm Fjord. This information was in the full description. The actual name of the excursion was Tracy Arm Fjord & Glacier Explorer. We had the early excursion, but I know there was an afternoon one as well. I hope this helps. Safe travels. it was amazing! We booked that excursion through Carnival. We booked it shortly after we booked the cruise, we were afraid it was going to get booked up if we waited too long. We are heading back to Alaska next April. We are thinking we may do the helicopter tour on a glacier this time. It’s pricey, but, the people that we sat with at dinner on our last Alaska journey did it and said it was unbelievable as well. Safe Travels🎉

Thank you for the video. Did you get a chance to visit the thermal suite (cloud 9) on the Carnival Miracle? I have not seen any videos of this area on this particular ship. Do they have one? Quality-due to the age of ship? Thank you,

Hey Mark, thanks for the comments. We unfortunately never got over to the thermal suite. I’m not even sure if they have one on the miracle. You probably would know better than me. I guess that something I need to look out for on our next cruise.

What hotel did you all stay yet before the cruise

We stayed at the Marriott Le Méridien Hotel in San Francisco's Financial district. Our room window faced the cruise port. It was an easy walk to the port or you could take a shuttle from the hotel to the port. Thank you for coming along on our journey around the world. Happy cruising!

We booked the excursion through Carnival. I don’t remember the exact cost. But, it was pricey for my budget. I’m guessing $249. each. Thanks for watching and thanks for coming along on our journey. We will be doing a Hubbard’s glacier cruise next April on the Luminosa.

August, I’m thinking the weather will cooperate. We had a hard time packing because we did a back to back. We went to Alaska first we got back to San Francisco then headed over to Hawaii so we had a climate change of clothes that we had to pack. I would definitely bring the flip-flops. The biggest thing in Alaska is rain. I would pack a lightweight rain jacket, or a couple of disposable rain ponchos you can get at the dollar store. A fleece is probably the most you’ll need for a warm jacket. I definitely would recommend a pair of long pants, a hat & light weight glove as a just in case. We had friends that went in August and every day was sunny and beautiful. It’s pretty much hit or miss. I hope you guys have an amazing trip and safe travels. Thank you for commenting.
