My family and I will be cruising to Alaska in June. I have been loving all of your Alaska vlogs to help us prepare. We have done a lot of Caribbean cruises but never one like this. Thank you for the tip on the app and coupon book. I will have to look into that. We are so excited for this cruise!

Looks like you guys had a really great time. I've got a similar cruise booked this May on the Discovery Princess. You're giving me some more ideas.
@travelwithus7503 жыл бұрын
Well son of a gun. The only hiccup we had on our recent Princess cruise was in Skagway we almost missed a the white pass train because they took one of the gangways away and everyone was like y did they do that knowing a lot of people r gonna get off at this time. We figured oversight. But know I explained it I can sleep better now. Dang tide. That’s why the upper gangway went away. Who knew but jay!! Lol. Btw that mushroom we learned was one of the most poisonous in North America. We saw em on botanical garden excursion.

We left Juneau at 11pm or so on July 4, 2000! Still some light but watched fireworks as we were leaving! People were in the water swimming earlier that day.

Ok new questions - how long did the whole salmon bake tour last including drive time - and how much time did y’all spend taking tram up exploring and tram down? How much time left once down and out of the tram? Trying to plan our day - we will have from 7am to 3pm
@chuckoneill20233 жыл бұрын
We did the tram plus the Glacier park when we were there a couple weeks ago. May go for the salmon bake if we're ever up that way again.

The trails looked fantastic! What a wonderful day you had in Juneau!! Thanks for the advice for the coupon book! Can you buy it right there or do you buy it beforehand?
@parodeejay3 жыл бұрын
They don’t sell it at the port, so you’d get it from Alaska TourSaver beforehand. You can preview the coupons on the website or app, and download either a digital copy to save money, or request a physical coupon book with shipping. Pretty nifty!! :D www.toursaver.com

I just looked at the 2022 coupon book and they have severely scaled back the deals for the inside passage. No BOBO Tram or Salmon Bake that I can see. It's a bummer.

Oh no, sad to hear that! Those were two of the better deals that we were able to use!!

Wonder if you thought it was a mistake to travel to Alaska so late. I see where there cruises late in October. It’s very very very cold. Also the cruise lines advice you to never take a outside tour company, I would be nervous.
@parodeejay3 жыл бұрын
Early-to-mid September was surprisingly nice. You would get more salmon and bear action in late summer, I’m sure. But we had lots of luck with wildlife and weather on this trip! We’ve never had any issues with independent tours, but we do a lot of research first!! :D

@Dee-of-ParoDeeJay3 жыл бұрын
The app is called My Aurora forecast. It is a little tricky to understand. But it shows you the percentage chance you have to see the Northern Lights from your location. The best places to see the. And it sends you notifications if they are in your area. Have a great cruise.

We had the app and it worked fine. We’ve heard that the 2022 offers aren’t nearly as good as in past years though, and many of the things we used aren’t in the book or app now. Boo!!

Seagulls was there for some kind of food source! Maybe fish or small animals in the water that was stirred up by the boat! The seagulls was trying to get some breakfast like you were doing in the morning! Bacon 🥓 wasn't on the menu or the cruise ship was flushing the ship toilet tanks than Bacon was on the menu for the every other day Beacon 🤣🚽 you would be upset if you had to fight over food! People squawk over about bacon on a cruise ship cuz I can't have it everyday! 🤓

When you go to the omelet station ask for fresh eggs and not that yellow concoction which is not real eggs and they will get you fresh eggs from the refrigerator.
