I remember seeing this in 8th grade in 2011 and getting so inspired to play the sax. I then played this song for my high school senior year culminating in 2015 and received 100%. Sometimes I watch this every now and then and I wonder how the hell did I pull it off. It all seems like a dream to me. Hope you are doing well and thank you for the gift of inspiration

What a beautiful rich full tone. Sounds like a Selmer. When I was 11 my father bought me a used 1937 Balanced Action Selmer Alto Sax...Thats was over 60 years ago, it sounds better every time I play. I wish the best of luck in your musical career.

This is glorious, I cannot even fathom the years of practice it must have taken to have gotten to this level. Perfection is on the mark of the talent in this piece. I play, yet I have absolutely no idea how you make it sound like two saxophones in the end. The double high F was also so in tune I just listen amazed at how you could have played it on the fly like that. This was great, I loved it!

I'm in 9th grade and my bd wants me to (try) to learn this. She's the type of teacher that gives her students hard pieces way beyond their experience and make them play it. That's how I get better I guess. It definitely helps when it comes to stuff that's actually at my level! This has really helped me understand more about the technicality of the piece! Amazing performance.

Never have I had such a love/hate relationship with this piece. Last summer, I found this recording and decided to try and learn it for our district solo and ensemble competition. The piece itself is amazing, especially if you can get all of the runs, but there lies my only issue that I personally have with the piece: the runs. As of right now, the competition is only a few days away, and I'm (unfortunately) taking the last 4 pages at half the tempo because I can barely even play some of the runs, much less make them sound musical. Hopefully later on in life I'll have the time to sit down and really work on this piece again. There's only so much I can do on it being a junior in high school... xD

The last note is actually a high G in the altissimo range I believe. I own the sheet music but I'm not too familiar with anything above third octave of F# on the alto. I'm currently in ninth grade and let me tell you this piece becomes technical after the main theme is played. Bravo to you my friend, who was able to pull of such a beautiful muse. I hope to hear more from you and to Duran, the third octave of G is a difficult note to hit, from my experience (:

Starting at 3:45 your notes could be a little cleaner on the descent 4:03 the arpeggios start out ok. Until 4:13, big breath taken there breaks the continuity. 4:21 the scales are little rushed and are not real clean 4:50, 4:53 missed notes because of bad place to breathe. 5:21…ugh. You heard it. 5:20 on You could bring out the staccato notes a little more in this section. 5:38 rushed pickup note 5:44 left out note to breathe. i'm sure you heard and knew these areas as you performed. i love your tone and technical ability though. Good luck.

Instead of being nitpicky over every little error (which I'm sure he was already quite aware of), why not just sit back and enjoy the performance of a younger player? I enjoyed it, and I know that over time he'll only become an even better player. The tone is good and centered, and the intonation is great. I also like that your low C's don't bark - indicates good control and comfort over your setup! If I wanted to give "professional advice" over KZbin... I'd probably make a comment along the lines of making sure to always blow through the musical line, and make sure that every note connects. But really, there's a lot to like already. It's a great piece of music to keep under your belt, and the longer you sit with it, the more you'll be able to do musically. Once you've hit a point where you're very comfortable with the piece (even to the point of near-memorization), you can really start to play around with the nuances of the piece. Then you can make it your own, and really sell it to whomever you play for. *****, how long have you been playing/what year in school are you? Edit: Just realized I already asked you before! Didn't realize how old the video was. I hope your studies are going well! My sister is a chemical engineer, and she says it's been a very rewarding career thus far.
