If you are that worried about Covid, you shouldn't be cruising. That said, the two times I got Covid were directly after I got back from a cruise. Will it stop me from cruising? No. Time to go on with life. This virus will be around forever and is just going to be a part of life.

If cruise line bring back masks, they should give their customers the option to cancel their booking with all deposits, excursions, drink and dining packages refunded. Let's hit them at the bottom line.
@ShadyS-2012
@ShadyS-2012 Жыл бұрын
They wouldn't have to give you the option, it would render the contract null and void. I cancelled a cruise back when they did this the first time, and they were forced to return all funds, including non-refundable deposits. That's the beautiful thing about contracts, unless both parties agree to any changes made after the initial contract was agreed to, it no longer exists ;)

Any company that recommends masks for Covid protection should be sued for giving fail medical advice. Covid aerosols range from 13 to 60 microns in size. N95 masks are rated for aerosols of 20 microns or larger, offer no documented protection against the aerosols from 13 to 20 microns in size. I'm almost certain you can sue anyone that endangers your life, by force.

Fact is, cruise lines can't afford to go back to mandates. They still haven't recovered from the first time around. With the amount of people who would cancel if mandates were reinstated it would "sink" the cruise lines.

Booked on Norwegian at the end of October out of Italy. Received an email from Norwegian to say they are not re-instating mandates but passengers need to start watching for protocols in all ports and for any flight layover stops. If masking comes back, we will be cancelling the cruise, that is NOT a vacation! Just got off an Alaskan cruise a couple of weeks ago, doing fine.

I don't care what anybody says, but it is literally impossible to even guess what a person really looks like under a mask. I met a girl who I knew back in the mask days, and when she took off the mask she looked 20 years older than I imagined and looked much different than expected. Wearing masks takes away what it's like to be who you really are. I can't believe people want masks back. I guess if you are really ugly than why not. It helps with some people.

@@stephendacey8761 unfortunately people who know they are infected don't care if they infect others. Just masking for 2 days after you know that you are positive would perhaps save someone else from a ruined vacation. I took a cruise earlier this year, in good health and the person sitting in front of me on a tour was coughing up a storm, telling his other symptoms then admitted he was covid positive and found out the day before! 5 days later I was positive because he couldn't wear a mask until he was non infectious. The last days of my vacations was ruined because he thought it was no big deal. I ended up so sick I lost 15 pounds. I wore masks when I was sick long before covid when I had a cold or especially the flu. It is just a few days of inconvenience. The people who don't care is the real reason that the cruises are not as full as they used to be.

@lindaroland2277
@lindaroland2277 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same. Although my husband and I don’t have any health issues, we are in our late 60’s, so on a recent cruise on Oasis of the Seas, we chose to wear our N95 masks, whenever we were indoors (except when eating) and even at crowded outdoor venues. The ship was at full capacity…over 6500 cruisers, plus who know how many thousand staff, but we maybe saw a handful of other people wearing masks. It didn’t bother us in the least. We feel like, you do you and I’ll do me. Anyway, we never got Covid, so we’ll probably do the same thing on our next cruise.

It was bound to finally get me but until they show the science that says masking works I will not be participating in that. B, No. My wife and I find that a 7-8 day cruise is long enough. We did an 8 day Alaska cruise and by the 8th day we were both ready to get off the boat. I would rather break it up and do 1-2 smaller cruises with maybe a long cruise every once in a while if money was not an option.

My Dad and his wife called me almost everyday pleading me to take the pokey poke. I gently told him we're waiting to see how you guinea pigs fare. It never got heated but he pretty much blamed me and "my side" for the length of the emergency. The day of their big cruise, they both contracted covid (from church) and went anyway! People are funny.

It’s all about control. I was fired from my job at Forsyth hospital for declining the vaccine. I’ve been struggling since. I’m constantly faced with financial hardships and can barely support my children since losing my job. I’m a single mom. With two children on the spectrum. I’m overwhelmed at times. But I know I made the right decision. Even as my boys require a lot from me because they are also non verbal. I declined because I suffer from heart disease and lupus. I’m now waitressing and I’m grateful but I’m not making nearly enough. JESUS HELP me. I’m CRYING OUT TO YOU. I’m tired of struggling. Struggling to buy groceries. Struggling to pay rent. It hasn’t been easy. I know God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. I know all things are possible through Jesus. I WILL KEEP FAITH. No matter how hard life gets.

Way to go Carnival with having no mask/vaccine/testing requirements in the future. In regards to why i book a cruise, I think destination and ship are the same. I REALLY like the newer ships and think it is worth the extra price. Id rather go to some better ports and have a ship that is a few years old, but id go to some just "ok" ports if the ship was really nice. Overall i try ro balance everything between ship, destination, cost and where the ship is leaving from abd pick the one that has the most.

When choosing a cruise, we definitely pick destination, price, line as top criteria but which ship does play a part now: I recently found the ideal Baltic itinerary but we didn't go ahead because we really didn't like much about NCL Prima!

I choose a cruise by it's embarkation port. The closer the port to where I live, the better. I would never do a one year cruise. The longest cruise I've been on was 12 days and in my opinion, it was almost too long. After a while, boredom does set in.

COVID regulations come back we will NOT be cruising, im NOT dealing with that. Also, do you get travel insurance plus trip protection at check out when booking a cruise? Or just the trip insurance and skip whats offered from the cruise line? Thanks!
@angelacastagna3824
@angelacastagna3824 Жыл бұрын
The best trip insurance is through a third party carrier, but it’s more expensive, especially if you want protection to cancel for any reason. And if you got sick onboard and needed to be transported off the ship, flown to a hospital etc, your regular health insurance most likely does not cover that….and it could cost you in the tens of thousands

I like to think beyond “will *I* get Covid” and consider, “if *I* get Covid, who will I spread it to”? It’s not that I will get inconvenienced by getting sick, but how many others will get sick because of me? So I’ll continue to wash my hands, avoid crowds, wear a mask if I can’t avoid crowds, keep my hands away from my eyes and nose, and test anytime I’ve had prolonged contact with anyone or if I will be in a crowd. It’s not a big sacrifice for me to keep myself safe and in turn not exposing others. Yep, I’ve been cruising and masking anytime I left the cabin. Yep I hate the masks, but I would hate making someone else sick even more.

I can't see the requirement for vaccinations coming back. On our cruise last summer to Alaska, everyone had to do the tele-health thing but once onboard, it seemed people were walking around bragging about scamming the system. Sure enough, people got sick.... including me and hubby both. Post-cruise on our FB group for the cruise people reported at least 50% positives withing days of returning. Obviously, the system didn't work. We are heading out on a cruise in a few weeks and I am getting my flu and Covid boosters this week. Trips are expensive and I don't want to miss out of having a good time, sick in my room.

My favorite COVId protocol was only the gloved staff handling the buffet serving utensils. The washing stations are too bad although many have worse than stupid design! Would anyone be okay with not quarantining but just requiring someone who tests positive for COVId to wear the masks? How about cruise ships not sailing full to the brim? There were some things that were part of the protocols that people liked!
