Amazing port in Australia, I love how chill it is here, everything you need is close to where you get off, and the Blue lagoon is a terrific spot for swimming with the kids especially during box jelly fish season

I wish I could say they are amazing with allergies but unfortunately they don’t seem to understand it. I have talked about it a bit in my reviews. They will probably keep bringing her gluten free stuff and nothing at Masala Tiger is dairy free. Here is an example, one night, they brought me gluten free bread, I could tell it was straight away and said bread doesn’t have dairy and I just want normal bread. She came back with bread and then gave me butter. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m sure like me she has an idea of what she can and can’t have, there have been times they have been good but some other times not so good. She will be ok though, they seem to muddle through.

Thank you very much for the videos. They are very informative. I am going on a 10 Day Great Barrier Reef with Carnival Cruise Line in 2026. I have been on Carnival once in 2015 but can’t remember anything about it. From doing research Airlie Beach, Port Douglas and Moreton Island are all tender ports? Cairns is a docked port? Roughly how long does it take to get from the ship to land with the tender? As I am trying to work out the best way to maximums the time.

How exciting. Our first ever cruise was a 10 day Great Barrier Reef Cruise on the Carnival Spirit. My next vlog is actually Cairns so that should give you some good insight on that. Check you itinerary, if it says Yorkeys Knob than it will be a tender port but if it just says Cairns, you will pull up at port. It’s been a long time since I did the Cairns tender but that one can take a while and the time consuming part on Airlie beach is loading and unloading the tenders. It does help that they utilise local catamarans though. We haven’t done Moreton Island yet, it was cancelled due to weather when we were supposed to go because that was a tender port and wave size can affect it. We did Port Douglas in 2018 and loved it there too. It was a beautiful port but also a tender port.

Awww, I’m sorry to hear that. They should really give better advice around swimming. Especially in the warmer months, it’s not advised that you swim in the beach because of jellyfish also. It’s a giant lagoon with different areas for swimming for all ages. When you get off the ship, there is locals giving out maps and advising where to go, they are happy to point you in the right direction.
