Carnival Vista Formal Night + The Alchemy Bar is LEGIT! After a fun day at sea, we got ready for formal night, grabbed a drink at the Alchemy Bar and got a table with our Anytime Dining seating. We saw one of the hilarious comedians, and watched the Michael Jackson Showdown hosted by none other than The Flying Scotsman himself! Tomorrow we will be in Grand Turk, and you will NOT want to miss that!

One of my favorite things to do is try all of the drinks on the menu.. Needless to say i have yet to accomplish that. And its probably a good thing...LOL.

I didn't get anything from Alchemy last time, but when we go again I will. I loved the shows in the atrium after dinner, we always did that before anything else. Our CD Mike Pack was so awesome and he always packed the atrium too. Love your vlogs!

Carnival vs Royal, what's your take? Which do you prefer?

Well, while we like both cruise lines for different reasons, we typically lean more towards Royal. Carnival has the FUN going for them all the time. Lots of deck parties and the CDs are almost always amazing. But we think the quality of entertainment, food and customer service is better on Royal.

We did not buy the cheers package.. We brought our own wine onboard and I think only bought these 2 drinks from the Alchemy Bar. :)

We have not. We really want to, but we usually try to do so many things, its never in the budget. BUT, we will make it a priority for a future cruise because everyone raves about it. :)

I wouldn't exactly call myself a foodie but right at the beginning of my first cruise I decided I was going to try every weird thing they threw at me. So I tried the octopus and the frog legs and the eel and the eggplant and the shark and the gator tail and the ox tongue. On embarkation day of our second cruise, we were on board really early (FTTF) and the ship was nearly empty. Lots of crew were roaming around trying to sell things and we bumped into someone pushing the Chef's Table. We watch a lot of Top Chef and we wanted to try a meal like that and it was going to be on my wife's birthday, so that's how we justified it. Simply amazing. And because I asked nicely, they made a birthday cake and everyone sang "Happy Birthday". As an added bonus, you get to see how they make the chocolate melting cake!

What cameras are you using? And are you using an external microphone? When I first looked at the video you did of the drinks in the alchemy I suspected you could be using some of the video from the carnival promo video because it looked so good but then I saw the DSLR over your shoulder... the shots are so good they look like they were done with a slider but unless you have a secret couple of Grips following with gear you must just have really steady hands... keep up the good work... very entertaining!

Haha thank you! No, every part of the video you see is something we captured. :) We are currently using the Canon 6D Mark ii for cinematics and Canon g7x mark ii for vlogging. We use the mic that is built in to the g7x . We do have a slider, but it wasn't used in this video! :)

Hi Taylor! That is exciting!! As I am writing this, I feel like you are already on your cruise.... lol so very sorry if I missed you. Usually on shorter cruises, you have to pay extra, but on 7-night cruises, they have lobster included on one of the formal nights. Hope that helps and happy sailing!

We want to make sure we give everyone our honest review of every aspect of the cruise vacation based off of our other experiences.
