How To Pack If You're Flying To A Cruise! We are flying to our Freedom of the Seas cruise in a few weeks, so we wanted to see if we could pack all of our stuff in a carry on only. When we are packing for a cruise, we usually bring whatever we want as long as we can carry it... so this was a challenge! Watch to see if Alyssa can pack everything using her packing cubes. Do you usually fly to your cruise port? What are some tips you have for packing??

Solid shampoo/conditioner , solid bodywash, decant liquids even more by using tiny jars mainly for creams, foundation etc. you can even get deodorants, tooth tabs or powder and many other items in solid form so therefore taking up less space, lighter and complying with security liquid rules in addition the solid items from lush and other similar companies are also better for the skin and hair as they are natural, if you are using a carry on only the soft sided large capacity cabin case or bags can fit more in and if the flight has weight restrictions they are obviously much lighter to begin with x

I never go with more than a carry on, no matter how long we travel. Hauling around a large suitcase is a waste of my energy. A small container of hand wash woolite for my undies and laundry service is all that’s needed. Coordinate your clothing and it’s so much easier! Great tips for cruise travel!

I say more power to you for just packing a carry-on. When we cruise we make a real vacation of it. When we did the eastern coast from Boston to Quebec we stayed a week before in Plymouth and a week after in Quebec. This year we're doing the Mediterranean so we're staying 2 weeks before the cruise in Italy and 1 week after in London. There's no way I could do that in just a carry-on. Having said that, we are taking 1 large and 1 medium suitcase and packing the large one with my husbands clothes along with all of our shoes. toiletries, and evening clothes. The medium case will be for my clothes and some of Richards smalls. He'll carry the camera gear and electronics in a backpack, and I'll take a change of clothes for both of us, in case of lost luggage, in a weekender. I can only dream of a day when I can travel with just a carry-on.

Bonnie Lee I traveled a week in a carry on. You pack for a week & do laundry along the way. According to Rick Steves, part of the fun is going to laundry mats in other countries & spend time with the locals. One of my favorite travel vloggers & her husband have been traveling full time for 2 years out of a backpack & a carry on!

Wow that is very efficient packing for a 9 day trip. I applaud you for that. We are planning on packing a little bigger suitcase and we will have to check it in. I have never used the packing cubes. Do they help a lot?

we always fly to port ( Canadians) but we always fly in at least a day early and hit the dollar tree or Walgreens for Big sunscreen and other liquids. We always go carry on only! Next one will be a challenge b2b Western and Southern with 2 days in IAH and last night in YYZ - 17 NIGHTS TOTAL! There will be laundry done on the ship though

I have to admit my complete surprise at how you were able to do this! I didn't think it was possible to truly prepare for all possibilities and still pack light for a 7-day cruise + flight! Maybe I need to really re-evaluate my packing. 1 question: do you guys do shopping and if so, where do you pack that stuff when packing light? (I imagine as a more frequent cruiser you probably don't souvenir shop as much as someone like me who cruises on average every 18 months.)

You can do it!! We typically don't purchase souvenirs or really anything to bring back with us. If we do have extra things, they are small and are able to fit in a personal item like a backpack.

Our shoes are Vibrams. We got an excellent deal on them before our Carnival Magic cruise and they were great for our Water Falls excursion in Amber Cove! And I don't even think Griff owns a rain jacket.... 🙈 Sorry for not being more helpful there! (He also apologizes for calling you Violet in one of your recent comments... haha!)

Shampoo and conditioner bars from lush and toothpaste tablets also from lush. Way easier than trying to fit everything in bags that I have to pull out at security.

Your toiletries (liquids) have to go in a quart size bag, not a gallon ziplock. TSA will have a cow!

Lol I actually have yet to experience TSA caring about my liquids (as long as they are 3 oz or less). I don’t even use a clear bag anymore and pack way more than can fit in a quart. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can certainly pack those, but we don't have much time to read on our cruises, so we don't bother. As for snacks, as long as they are sealed you can usually bring them, but there is plenty of food on the ship, so we don't pack those either. :)

3:42 the exact reason why packing cubes are useless and a waste of space. Take all of that stuff out, keep it rolled, but actually put it inside the suitcase and it would fit with more room (trust me), and you can actually pack more into the small void spaces between the rolled up clothes. I'm on the road 120+ days a year and packing cubes are a vanity accessory that should never be purchased if you pack for space.

So the reason we use packing cubes is not for organization IN the suitcase per se. Yes, you can keep things rolled and fit just as much stuff, if not more. However, when you are traveling with more than one person, it is easier to transfer items from one suitcase to another if need be (overweight bags, reorganizing after a purchasing things) AND once you get to your destination, you can take the packing cubes out of your suitcase and put them on the shelf or in a drawer, keeping your space organized.

The Liquids have to be in a QUART size zip lock bag, the gallon size you have in the red backpack wont work. Im also not positive about the size of your Coconut Milk shampoo. The size can't be larger than 3.4 oz.... the big thing is the clear bag cant be bigger than Quart size.

Taziar Travel the interesting thing is, these are the same bags I use every time... so not sure how strict they are with measuring a quart, because we fly fairly often. And the coconut milk shampoo/conditioner are 3 oz! 😊

I would often use the gallon bags too (I tend to have them on hand more often) with no problem ... the sizes of my liquids were all correct. Last year, I had a security lady get really rude about it, so now I "follow the rules" as Tony says. ;) I'm interested to see if yours go through fine.

Taziar Travel any size ziplock usually work within the US and Canada. I’m a frequent flyer and use them all the time. They may be strict in other countries or if you are coming from certain places.

I usually enjoy your videos for content, but this one the filming was annoying. As Alyssa was packing and explaining things or pointing out, the camera was mostly on her, not the items or compartment she was talking about. Sorry guys...you've had better.
