This is an awesome find - 99.9% positive that my old band opened this show - July 11th 1986. Lethal Aggression/Carnivore/Nuclear Assault. I remember admiring Pete's decopodge job on that bass with our bassist. LOL Great Times!!

Ran into a guy years ago that claimed to have signed Pete Steele to some sort of record deal. Apparently at the time Pete lived in his mother's basement and this guy was told to bring a bottle of red wine, which he assumed they would share. but to his surprise Pete uncorked the bottle and drank it like a beer.

In 1989, Kenny, Peter, Josh, and drummer Sal Abruscato started Subzero, which became Type O Negative. What was the first rehearsal like? HICKEY It was hilarious. Peter was wearing reading glasses and had cut his hair short because he had just applied to be a cop. He was all clean-cut because he thought he was going to give up the rock-and-roll thing.

Peter w short hair!!! This was in his hardcore faze where he hung out a lot w the NY skin head bands. He co wrote a lot of songs for Agnostic Front on their "Cause for Alarm" album. Retaliation Carnivore's 2nd album was a lot more hardcore sounding than the first, hence the mostly shorter, faster compositions.

Type O Negative were supposed to be named Sub Zero but there already were a band with that name (a NYHC band, check it out) so Peter changed it to Type O cause it fitted the logo they already had at that point.

It was supposed to be Repulsion at first, but then they got contacted by an already existing band of such name, so they changed it to Sub Zero. Again, there already was a band called Sub Zero. But they already got the tattoos on their shoulders, so they finally came up with Type O Negative
