there seems to be some confusion in this comment section, so let me clarify: hippos are primarily herbivores but they ARE technically omnivorous. They do in fact eat meat (mostly scavenged from other animals) and will even hunt for meat, although only very rarely. They eat plants the vast majority of the time. google can tell you more if you want the specifics.

sorry but this is just the brutal reality of nature. you can’t blame the hippo. they do not kill or harm out of malice, only humans do that. this is simply their nature. it isn’t always pretty, like any animal.
