No I think what the story is describing is basically an alternate version of The Chicken and The Eagle story. In the original story a chicken finds an eagle egg and raises the baby eagle like a chicken. They live their life eating worms and seeds and never flying. One day the eagle looks up in the sky and sees another eagle flying, and thinks “I wanna fly too” so the eagle makes the choice to either keep living like a chicken, or fly like an eagle, and he chooses to fly like an eagle. In this version however, the eagle CHOOSES to be a chicken, because they believed that by disguising themselves as a chicken, they can get an easy meal. However as they live further as chicken, not only do they get fatter, but they even start eating the food the chickens eat. Now they have fully become like a chicken. Slowly but surely, they are sucked in to this new lifestyle they have chosen, and it practically eats him alive. Towards the end, he is completely indistinguishable from a chicken and is eaten by another eagle. In the original story, the eagle lived a very simple and easy life on a farm, until they saw the gracefulness of an eagle flying in the sky and chose to fly too. In this story, the eagle wanted to live an easier life and chose to become a chicken, only to find that the lifestyle was not only unfulfilling, but also slowly killing him, and eventually it did.
