Carnivorous Plants || Pinguicula seedlings update :: Success and failures

I've been trying to make new ping hybrids by pollinating them over the past 8 months. I've had more failures than successful pinguicula seed germinations. This is the process of trial and error. Keep on trying because you will get success over time. This video is my latest update on my seed germinations.

What's your current substrate mix? In my small containers w/ drainage holes, I'm using a typical CalCarn mix w/ (almost) equal parts pumice, perlite, peat, and sand. Pings have been responding well to it, I just need to keep a schedule so I don't overwater. I also have a DOOA terrarium with 2:1 lava rock and coarse silica sand, which has been serving me well.

Current ping substrate is one part each of peat moss, pumice and vermiculite. Though, for the seedlings I am trying horticulture sand and vermiculate to keep it grainy.

nice! will primuliflora propagate from pieces of leaf cuttings or does it have to be the whole pulled leaf?

Thanks for watching. Primuliflora is a temperate ping, different from the mexican ones I have. I read that primuliflora propagates by selfing when the plant splits. Though, I have not seen one propagate by leaf pullings. Worth a try if you have a few in your collection or just one leaf pulling.

Only 1 has been growing bigger. I’ve lost many, though I still see several that are still micro looking. My Neon Raspberry x Laueana are doing so much better.

I looked at them yesterday and some are triple the size. Maybe close to repotting the bigger ones.
