7 years later the video that convinced me on getting this Fiesta Titanium X Edition in 2017, I loved it so much. I enjoyed driving it from 2017 - 2020, but I moved onto bigger and better cars. I scrolled all the way down you're page to this specific video just to relive this video again.. memories. Thank you for the excitement back in 2017! and the channel has improved since then well done mate!

this is a common complaint that i have with smal cars: tech and metarial doenst trickle down that much. i had this new fiesta, since my ja8, was in repair. its loud in the car, the dampening is worse then on my 1998 vuxhaul vectra, and its automatic gearbox is slow, and sluggish, as it was on my 4 speed gearbox on the vectra and theres 20 years between the cars
@kobbetop7 жыл бұрын
I was surprised Ford decided to switch from dual clutch to a conventional torque converter. I drove this new one today and it feels slow and sluggish compared to the old one. Dual clutch is sometimes jerky at slow speeds but 99% of time it's fine. Converter box is smooth, yes, but not as fun to drive anymore, so I would go for the manual also.
@CarObsession7 жыл бұрын
Hey Kobbetop, thanks for watching. Yeah, the automatic was a disappointment and it's hard to recommend it unless you can only drive an auto.
@ponygt66297 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you here man, See the reason why Ford is switching back to TC AT is its STUPID UNRELIABLE SHIT DCTs I mean dont even try comparing Ford DCTs with VW,BMW,Mercedes or even Nissan /Honda DCTs Fords Getrag DCTs are easily WORLDS WORST DCTs I mean how many cases have been filed against Ford because of that SHIT box kzbin.info?search_query=ford+dct+transmission+problems Now want to know more, in Australia people even make fun of Fords Powershift DCT as POWERSHIT, See I am not making this up, just ask any OZ buddy and U ll get this reply, New 6 speed is so much better than the outgoing powershit gearbox I agree the 6F15 TC AT is not a super fast transmission and Ford dosent advertise or say its a sporty gearbox as well, its for those who want a relaxed and comfy ride, and most important of all RELIABILITY, most dual clutch even VWs gearboxes have issues post 75k kms , but with TC automatics problems rarely occur even after 150k kms, and only issue that might occur are wear off transmission oil dipped belt or timing belt, both of which are far far less expensive to replace than actuators, or clutch packs like in DCT or DSGs
@siri94527 жыл бұрын
unfortunately, not everyone is on board with the "fun to drive" thing. Ignorant consumers already protested and sued Ford over the Dual-Clutch transmission and they lost all their customers in the Asian region. What happened was people didn't understand what DCT is and thought the jerky-ness at slow speeds is because the car is literally broken. So Ford Asia kept replacing the transmission for people instead of explaining to them it's because it was designed that way.
@kobbetop7 жыл бұрын
Siri Exactly. It doesn't behave like a traditional torque converter automatic and you need to learn how to avoid the jerkyness. Took me a while to learn but I'll take that any day if it means quick shifts and faster acceleration.
@ponygt66297 жыл бұрын
No U r wrong, the Dual clutch in Fords compact cars ie the Focus,Fiesta,Ecosport are Gertag built DCT150/200 transmissions, both are dry clutch designs that are prone to failures unless its driven super slow and calm, in Asia the traffic is immense and this means lot of clutch slip and this eventually led to lot of clutch break downs and also the TCM which is one of worst programmed TCM of any auto car easily gave off within 3 to 4 years of use or between 20,000-50,000 kms itself, even VW had this issue with their DQ200 DSGs but thew were quick to respond and replaced all DQ200 basic design from dry clutch to wet clutch designs which is far more reliable design

the way you saw the panoramic, do you think that someone would be well protected against sun and heat during summer (in hotter meditteranean climates)?
@CarObsession7 жыл бұрын
andre andre Hello Andre, thanks for watching. I can't comment on protection, but during filming where the air con was off and the windows were closed, it did get pretty warm! It was a scorcher in the UK that day though. There is a blind that can be operated if you want to avoid the sun from coming through though.

Excellent review. Great that you mentioned the performance of the automatic. I used to have a Fiesta with powershift automatic (it's basically a computer controlled manual gearbox) but there were all sorts of problems with (Google it). The Fiesta is a good small car but Ford don't seem to have a clue about automatic gearboxes that are reliable and good touse, unlike say VW with their DSG.
@CarObsession6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much :) Yeah, the gearbox is 'OK' but I would definitely urge people to get the manual where possible, especially when it's a decent gearbox as well. Thanks for watching Gavla Tennis.

If its hot outside - just set the A/C to max - never open the pan roof, as that defeats the whole object of the air con !!
@CarObsession3 жыл бұрын
Hello Daniel, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. Are you referring to the bit around 3:15 where I opened the roof and said something about being hot? If so, the air con wasn't on at that time as it would have ruined the audio. In normal circumstances I'd have the air con on and the roof closed if it's that hot 👍🏽.

@CarObsession4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerry, thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback. I'm not too sure what you mean by your comment, though? A DCT has two clutches, one that controls the odd gear and one to control the even gears. One of the advantages of such a transmission is that it should provide quicker changes, but in the case of Ford's Powershift, that isn't always the case and this has been documented by people other than myself. A quick bit of research found this snippet on the net: "Drivers found that the shifting is not as smooth as they expected. Additionally, there was some slowness in the selection of the next gear, especially when trying to accelerate at lower speeds." - Source: Autoguide.com
