Thank you for your review and well made film. I've just bought this model, so it's interesting to see what others think of it. The only thing I wouldn't agree with you on is your suggestion that a pothole might break the suspension. As with my 1960s classic Triumph, I find I need to be far more aware of bumps and potholes than I do in a modern car, but not because I fear damage to the suspension. It's more to do with the fact that such things can unsettle the car; so you have to dance over the bumps. To see how strong and capable Caterhams are, it's worth watching the Grand Tour's Madagascar special.

Hi there, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. I'll be honest, when I said that, it was a little bit tongue in cheek, but i see what you mean. Having said that, I work in a car repair garage, and I've seen the damage potholes can do, but yes, I did see the Grand Tour Madagascar special.

@@CarObsession Thanks for your reply. Yes, a particularly bad pothole can cause damage, but I'm not sure a Caterham would suffer more than any other car. Either way, I think we'd all like better roads to enjoy. Keep up the great reviews.

I noticed you have a different dashboard? Is that part of the S pack or an aftermarket part?

Never mind I just watched the end of the video

Whats the best overall most balanced Caterham you've driven??
@CarObsession3 жыл бұрын
That is a good question. For having the balance between road use and track use, I'd say the 360, although I've heard a few say the 310 is the sweet spot. I've not driven the 310 though, so I can't comment.

@@CarObsession I'm tempted by a 270, and a 310 and a 420?! Just for road use though.
@CarObsession3 жыл бұрын
@@swisstony6622 If it's just for road use, I personally wouldn't bother with the 420. That for me, is bordering on having too much power to properly enjoy on the road.

@@CarObsession Ah its looking like a 420s!

Didn't show the footage of you getting in and out! lol. I'm 6'2" and tried to get in one a few years back......wasn't gonna happen! :-(

There's footage of me getting in to the car at 10:08 buddy 😉. I'm also 6 foot 2 as well, so I'm surprised you didn't fit.

Sorry, I can't believe I missed that! I was trying to get in the original Caterham 7, with the long front wings. I think the newer ones have a slightly bigger body. I couldn't slide down into it even with the roof off!
@CarObsession7 жыл бұрын
Haha, you mad me feel like I was going made when you put that comment. Yeah, this Caterham is the wide body chassis, but I still was able to get in the 160S and that was the standard chassis.

Caterhams today can have lowered floors that give extra leg space, also seat choice can add space, then there is the bigger SV model... and really older 7s were approx 2" shorter in the cockpit. Try one again and you might fit!

Good luck revving it to 8k... Maybe 7.2 if you're lucky.

I must confess, I couldn't find many places where I could really rev it that much! Thanks for watching

Car Obsession It will hit the rev limiter well before 7.5.
