I had the pleasure of spending a week with Carol Burnette at an exclusive spa I use to work at in Southern California years ago! She is lovely, kind, funny and we love her. She set the tone for the week and it was great. I always ended the week with music singing in a jazz recital and I pulled my ear at the end of my performance and she loved it. She also attended one of my classes and asked if she could close the class. I said yes of course and she had us all laughing so hard by the end. What a week to spend with one of the most amazing women I have had the honor to meet and spend quality time with. I will never forget her. Happy Birthday Carol!

I was born in 1966. Ms. Burnett’s show aired from 1967 to 1978. Her show left an indelible memory from my childhood that is priceless. A living icon! I grew up watching her show with my family, but my favorite memory is when I was checking into a youth hostel in Barcelona in 1987. As we were walking by the common room we could hear wild laughter. I poked my head in to see the large room packed with kids from all over the world, watching The Carol Burnett Show, dubbed in Spanish. Nobody understood the language, but everyone understood the humor. (Incidentally, it was the classic Gone with the Wind parody episode)😄. To this day Carol is still my favorite funny girl. I never missed a single show, loved her entire cast but especially Harvey and Tim. The way Harvey could not help cracking up always had me in tears, but Carol coming down the stairs wearing the curtain rod is an all time favorite. An absolutely brilliant comic who also mixed poignancy into some of her sketches that touched our hearts in between the guffaws and howlings. Even now there are a number of classic sketch references, such as her mention of Mrs. Wiggins, that keep my family, friends and I still talking and laughing about years later.
