On her "Gone with the Wind" sketch & I saw her coming down the stairs with a curtain rod in her shoulders, I was in stitches laughing!!! Harvey was already snickering when he complimented her & she just brought it home with: "I saw it in the window & I had to have it. "🤣😂🤣... That's when Harvey lost it!! The owners of the airplane were friends with Jim Nabors and he had a large macadamia nut farm on his property in Hana. We were called up to take Carol Burnett and Jim Nabors to the Hana Airport the next morning. So we were waiting for them to show up at the Honolulu Airport on Oahu . We had met Jim Nabors a number of times so he would recognize us and when they showed up it was so nice to meet Carol because she came up hugged us both and smiled and laughed a little. I was smitten for about an hour. When we landed at Hana they both got off the plane and we sat there doing nothing for about 30 minutes. Kinda stunned. I was 23 yo and now I’m a 70 yo disabled veteran and retired Corporate Pilot living in NYC with the same smile on my face.

First time watching, wow, What a great interview. Carol Burnett: is a sweet down-to-earth girl! Love hearing the stories of their experiences. You feel like you were right there at this party. These stars really are no better or worse than we are.

My friends (along with myself) watched The Carol Burnett show religiously every Saturday night. Though we were in high school and others were out doing crazy things, our Saturday routine was a constant in our lives. We’d gather at someone’s home, make popcorn and ready ourselves for an hour of laughter. When Carol was cancelled, we were beside ourselves and mourned the loss of what we perceived as 60 minutes of pure entertainment and laughter that often led to tears. There will never be another television show like Carol’s. Nothing will come close to this as television today is warped with what you can and cannot say, the woke BS, etc. And that’s a damn shame.

Karenlee I have to tell you, I met Irene Dunne a few months before she passed away in 1990 (I was 19) and I was just as incapable of forming normal sentences as Carol describes here. I'm still in shock that it actually happened.

I think the magic of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson is that it is like we are being let in to watch a conversation between friends . Just unscripted fun betwixt long time friends. Even when they talk of Hollywood parties that they attend, there is no hate or jealousy, we are just blessed with being let in on their lives.
