HB Teacher Carol Rosenfeld discusses Uta Hagen's Physical Destination exercise, as explored in the bestselling acting textbook A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR.
Hagen was one of the most renowned and respected acting teachers of the 20th century. She was highly sought-after and influential among those she trained at HB Studio. During her time at HB, she authored best-selling acting texts, RESPECT FOR ACTING and A CHALLENGE FOR THE ACTOR. Both texts still enjoy worldwide distribution. Her most substantial contributions to theatre pedagogy were a series of Object Exercises, as discussed here, that remain prominent training for acting professionals.
Carol Rosenfeld is the Founder of The Uta Hagen Institute and the Program Director for The Uta Hagen Institute Teacher's Labs at HB Studio. She is a former student of Uta Hagen.

I have a fear of yelling or screaming. Which has prevented me from actually trying to be a actor. I'm now 31 years old. I naturally am introverted so alot of the 6 steps I tend to do naturally. I'm more of a reactor so I can naturally play off someone. My ideas and imagination can go on forever which I learned after doing a scene a certain way I naturally go back in my mind and start thinking of way I could of done it better or what I could have said better etc. I think I was born to act yet my fears consume me.

Try out a local acting class. There are many good evening classes that are open to everyone. A lot of introverted people do very well in these and come out feeling much better than when they went in.

What exactly are You doing? She said to "set Up your objects" then "do it" Anyone that could clarify that would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

I am taking a college acting class where this is a presentation we have to do. To my knowledge she wants us to watch everything we do (consciously and subconsciously) for a few days, and recreate it the best we can. So what I think the woman in this video personally is saying to set up your set, or your surroundings, and recreate what you have analyzed within yourself, and your habits. So act out your daily routine, or whatever specific moment you chose, and do it again and again until you best portray yourself :) I hope this was helpful
