Placing candles in Downing Street for kids killed in Gaza is okay, nothing to do with us by the way. But because police knew about it in advance it's okay? Yet if someone wants to express their religious beliefs in a Christian dominated country by singing carols, because the police didn't know about it in advance they want to move them on. So would they do that if a group of carol singers went around a neighbourhood singing for charity? They wouldn't know about that in advance would they? When I was a kid I was in the school choir and we went to old folk's homes to sing carols for them and give them (hopefully) a bit of Christmas cheer. As far as I'm aware we didn't have to tell the police. What do the police mean by a carol singing event being politically motivated?

Calm down people……. This pro Gaza happening was apparently involving many/some Christians. They started an impromptu carol singing as an end to their political march. The police were actually doing their jobs! As the pro Palestine march had a valid permission but not the carol singing get together at the end. If it had been a proper carol service there would have been action from the police, but because it was a non scheduled addition to a political rally it was in breach of the organisers permits. Frankly I’m shamed to admit it but I don’t want the people who have taken over our streets of a Saturday, taking control of our cultural, and religious celebrations.
