That pretty ending song Carol sings, always gets me into a melancholy mood, because you don't want it to end, I mean her show. Great memories of my childhood, watching with my family. Especially my mom. 😌💞🌹🌹🙏✝️

You don't get variety shows like this anymore. I wish that we could bring these good old days back again. I may have been born in 1996, but I still know that TV was great way back then.

Blame social media for that. Social media killed a lot of really good television shows.

@@xxwhispersxx2856 Yeah. You're not wrong about that. You know, I am trying to get my own late night talk show on TV, but I don't really have any connections to Hollywood. So, that's why I have been doing Weeknight Update on KZbin for almost 14 years. It's not a big show, but it is a lot of fun.

My mom was like that, she is a boomer and grew up in this period where everyone was very touchy-feely. After my dad passed away, a male neighbor of ours gave her a ride and helped her get groceries, and she gave him gas money and a smooch on the cheek. He thought she was in love with him, lmaooo, and cut off all contact after that. My poor mom was so confused until after I pointed out what happened and then she was like "Oh what the fuck."

I just knew Carol had the potential to sing better than she usually does and this ending proves it. I never heard this way back when. I remember now hearing an interview or skit I think it was with Dolly Parton that if you little question and answers before they saying and she admitted she just can't bring herself to sing seriously unless she is in character, and apparently it is as the char woman because it is a contemplative character I guess.

While singing solos was a regular and expected part of starring or co-starring in a variety series, Carol very rarely sang a complete song solo start to finish, without it being a comedic performance or a duet in its 11 seasons. I am not sure any of the rest of the pack of women stars from Dinah Shore, to Marie Osmond, to Cher, to Barbara Mandrell in variety could do much better than this. She has an excellent voice.
