All you people asking for the music via email, listen to the show and make an arrangement for yourself!! He didn't post this to read 20 comments a week asking for the file. This is for his and your (all of you) enjoyment.

Wow! That's more than I figured.. In any case, GREAT job on this, I'd say this is about 98% perfect, and reading that you did it all by ear is astonishing. Hope to hear some more music from you. Again, wonderful. Cheers

Hey dude, I marched crown this year in the baritone section and I must say, this is almost exactly what we were given this year. Nice job. A few things though. The rips at the end of the opener, the tempo is 188. that is a tempo change from the begining. and in the closer, the euphs dont start playing the melody till the second phrase. But this is fantastic.

I am a musician (keyboard and vocal) and I own a production company (sireno.com) and while I am by no means knowledgeable about this very high form of music production, I find this performance to be astounding. The level of precision and perfection you achieve here is absolutely remarkable. Having directed both business theater (industrials) and regional theater, I cannot imagine how much rehearsal, passion and sheer brilliant musicianship could have resulted in such a performance. Amazing!!!

Hey just a thought about the application performance. I use Finale, which may or may not be what you're using, but I used to have those acoustic issues where you hear these rough tones cutting in and out. I found that if you move every instrument to different channels, meaning don't have the different voices share the channels. Trpt 1, 2, 3 all should be on different channels. I had this problem when I used an older version of Finale 2007 where you are limited on the number of channels. This could also happen if you're using Finale Notepad. The problems exists when it is determining the dynamic changes within the measure and if multiple instruments are using the same channel. If their dynamics aren't perfectly lined up it will make those noticeable tone fluxuations. Great transcript!!

This video has easily become one of my new guilty obsessions--especially with the official recordings having just been released. Good ear, sir. I appreciate this vid both for the integrity of your audiation and for its ability to render my seemingly obsessive fanaticism for this show, its design, and the execution of it all to appear mild at best :) And I agree with the others. Get rid of the TRANSCRIPTION text. I wanna see all of itl

I too have been using Finale for over 10 years and have developed some tricks for getting the sound just right. One thing is to make sure each track has its own channel; sometimes tracks can share channels, trumpets, and when their dynamics are not perfectly aligned they can give you those muffled sounds as we hear. Fp and many more similar problems occur in Finale. I usually make one score to produce the sound and another for print purposes. Changing to Sibelius. Otherwise Great Transcription.

It's a mashup of "Knee Play 5" - Philip Glass and "Also Sprach Zarathustra" - Richard Strauss. "Walking with Heroes" by Paul Lovatt-Cooper appears in there as well along with "The Devil's Bridge" by Bertrand Moren.

i'm not sure if this has already been said, but it's worth noting that you've confused the baritone and euphonium parts. your baritone 1 should be baritone 2, your baritone 2 should be euphonium, and your euphonium should be baritone 1. euphoniums bridge the gap between baritones and tubas, whereas baritone 1 is essentially super second mellophone. excellent transcription, though.

Well done for the arrangement.Especially by ear. But can we please have the thing without the text, or better still make the file available for us to download it, so we can play it too. Thanks
@DrummerMan81311 жыл бұрын
Hey i know that you worked really hard on your arrangement, and it sounds great! On the other hand, if people saw what you wrote, they would be able to appreciate your efforts a lot more! Even if you did just the opener or something like that, people would be much more thankful for what you made! Coming from a huge Crown fan, I would want to be able to see what they played so I could see if I had what it takes to play with them! Hope this might persuade you to help out all of us Crown fans!

Copying and seeing are different things my friend. And it's very easy (Although not morally right) to copy something and pass it off as your own. Now Im not saying you would do that but you're not the only one seeing this video. Believe me I'd be more than happy to learn the music from this, but I understand where he's coming from. Plus it's more satisfying to figure it out.

check the Euph part in the beginning of the closer, where you gave it the melody that should be in the 1st bari. Euph parts aren't written that high (from what I've seen)

First thing I noticed is the counting part isn't right at the start - in one measure they omit the first count (I believe m15 here), and then also the (Seven) is supposed to be 16th then dotted 8th... Very nice for 4 days by ear though.

@willphillips651311 жыл бұрын
As a fellow transcriber/composer/arranger, I think worrying about someone stealing a DCI transcription is somewhat delusional... For one, the music doesn't even belong to you - the composer and corps owns the rights, so it's not like you're missing out on money, it would be illegal for you to sell it. And secondly, you're only denying yourself publicity by doing this. Your transcription could be in the hands of 1000+ people, but instead nobody wants sheet music with block letters on it.
@dex2179711 жыл бұрын

@zeldagod432711 жыл бұрын
I seriously dont understand why you would ruin your work by covering most of it up. I know this is supposed to be a showcase of your talent but theres people who want to use what youve created to make themselves better performers and players. The only thing youre doing by covering it all up is depriving people who want to become better musicians of using your amazing transcription for practice.
