wow man..exciting stuff, seems like these fish are comparable to Blackfish/Tautog up here in NY...we use Fiddler Crabs and once u drop it in the water, your baits gone before you even hit the bottom lol....very fun fishing

I used to live within walking distance of that bridge . I caught a doz. fiddlers and was fishing off of a pier just the other side of this bridge . Sheeps strike is so fast I used all of my bait and didnt catch one . After i used my last crab the sheep that had stole all my bait came up to the top of the water just to see where all those crabs were coming from (or to laugh at me ) These are small compared to whats there . I saw a guy catch a 9 pounder while I was there . Swansboro NC best fishing I ever seen I caught a 20 inch flounder standing right beside the ice house restaurant too.

Great Video I and 2, I fish Morehead City bridge every couple years in July, and never have had much luck, though. The current really rips through there so I have always used heavier weights, thanks going to try lighter weight tackle this year too.
@seth_thompson079 жыл бұрын
Andrea Perseghin Im not criticizing the Morehead bridge but the water isnt as deep as it is under the Swansboro bridge. The current is just as bad but the fishing is a lot better. Ive fished both over my years and our bridge has smoked other spots. The lightest tackle i would consider would be atleast a 3500 reel on a 7' medium action rod with a sensitive tip with 20 pound test power braid and 30lbs. test mono leader

i have a huge question for anyone that may know...We sheepshead fish under this same bridge and catch baby croaker and pigfish and put them on a 2/0 peen deep sea reel and a heavy rod. We hang into something almost everytime we throw out and it drags us around and eventually breaks our 200 lbs. leader. we have ruled out stingrays sharks and have gotten to its a fish that crushes the fish hits the bait in a full run does not bite the line in half and is very large. can anyone tell us what this fish may be. We think it may be a huge cobia or tarpon or on a very rare case but probably unlikely a sturgeon. We are dying to catch this huge fish.

Great video. May I ask for some tips: A) do you let the sinker hit the bottom or do you keep it off the sea floor? Also B) how heavy is the sinker and C) how far is the hook from the sinker (swivel)? I have a hard time catching sheepshead. Please reply.

This is north carolina, not florida. None of you know what youre talking about. Here in nc theres no size limit because theres lots of them and you dont always get them as big when youre fishing instead of spearfishing. In nc shrimp isnt a good bait to use because theres so many pinfish and trashfish here that will get to it first before the sheepshead. Fiddler crabs are great bait for them. You cannot get a citation for speared sheepshead because spearfishing is stupid.
