Gawd, I am so, so “jellie” right now…. What a gorgeous, gorgeous pen. And I love the grip section. I am the biggest pay-master when it comes to the aesthetic of “hourglass” slightly concave sections… And that, on the Charleston, is amazing… The pen’s proportions are stellar.

I was brought into the group buy after much of the discussion on describing the pour to Jonathon had already happened, and I was told that the ink colors chosen to inspire the pour were Ebisu and Fire & Ice. It was actually quite an honor to have a large enough turquoise obsession to be selected to help fill out the Group Buy, because I was fairly new into pens. This was the very first custom pen I purchased and I was SO excited. Interestingly, it was by no means the 1st custom pen I've received, as my collection has expanded quite a lot during the wait. That certainly makes it a pen with a story!

I regret so much -as a member of the turquoise pen club- not purchasing one😪. It is a beauty. Thank you for showing it to us, thank you Candace for sharing it with Azizah!

I love that he made a pen rest out of a piece of the pen blank. I need to get more turquoise inks. I do have Noodlers Navajo Turquoise. I have that inked in a pen. Another blue I have inked is Pelikan Edelstein Topaz. I think that one would play with medium to darker blue shades in the pen.

I would put either Iroshizuku Ku-jaku, or Birmingham Pen Co. Hall of Fame Riviera. Thank you so much for this video! That pen is STUNNING!

I believe I have Robert Oster Silver Fire and Ice in mine😁 I need to check it tomorrow, sometimes I forget which turquoise ink I have in which turquoise pen🤦🏽♀️.

The ink swabs used for the color inspiration were Ebisu and Fire and Ice so either of those 😊 Also, I might let you borrow mine if you need another fix sometime 🤣

Wow, that's a gorgeous pen. I'm going to SC next month, and this prompted me to look up Carolina Pens to see if they have a shop that I could visit. Too bad :-(

If you email him, he'd likely respond! I know others have visited in the past!

BTW, “extra fine is the Standard… the only kind. Type in calligrapher/calligraphy vids on KZbin… and those Zebra G nibs and such, on dip pens, and especially the oblique holders, and glass pens are “fine (i.e. extra fine)”. My nib width of choice is “extra fine”. I feel, the crutch of anything wider is, well, just that, a crutch. IJS. I think the true test of penmanship/calligraphy mastering flourishes and line variation with something at isn’t a cheat.

Please the heresy: I would put a RED ink with some sizzle in this pen, because I don't think a blue can match the excitement of the barrel, and the contrast in color between pan and ink would give me great visual pleasure.

I believe they are all sold out already :( They signed up for it over two years ago. He makes some similar materials but this one is just special!
