I hope you show if this set gets you a catch. Interesting to see the placing of the sets to the harvest. I realize not every location will be successful but it will be educational to watch start to finish.

I've been trapping maybe five years and still learning every day. This is a really great instructional video. Carolina Coyote, how far is the center of your trap pan from your dirt hole? I trap in GA and the guy who taught me used the 9X3 rule. 9 inches up from center of trap pan and 3 inches to the left is the hole.

That looks easiest enough for me to give it a try. We have a gut pile area on our land that is frequented that may make a great starting spot

Good info here. I just started following. I have a channel where we show hunting coyotes and hogs but our problem is they are way too intelligent and become smart to the calls. So our coyotes population is out of control so we are gonna start trying some trapping. My question is what is the bait concoction that you use. I didn’t see it in the description. Thanks

Great video, only question I have is how deep a the trap set I just started trapping yesterday and I like the idea of a dirt hole set but I’m afraid I’m setting too deep?
@CarolinaCoyote2 жыл бұрын
With dirt hole, flat, and scent post sets, you want to have your pan as close to level with the rest of the ground as possible

Where do you buy the chain with the shock spring extension? I have found plain steel cable extensions with anchors, but nothing like you have there. Thanks again..!

How often does a set need to be redone or rebaited?Like after rains or several days with no luck?
@CarolinaCoyote3 жыл бұрын
I only rebait the set 1 day after it rains. I'll remake the set and typically only put about half the bait and lure when remaking the set. The old bait is still in the bait hole and the coyote can still smell it, it's just not as strong after it rains and won't draw them in a easily without topping it off with a little more.
