I took my dad fishing for Spanish mackerel in Florida. We did have that much time together after he retired but I remember fishing with him that day. It was the best time. Thanks for your video.

I've taken a trip with Jeff Cronk. He is what you see on the video. A superb fisherman, and he tells you how to fish. If you want to learn how fish and will put you on fish, Jeff's the guide you want. I'm a veteran fisherman, but guides like Jeff know the water, know the spots, and know what to do. I recommend a guide anytime you go fishing in unfamiliar territory. It will make your trip so much better.

Thanks for the positive words... Truth is, I grew up fishing our coast 5 to 7 days a week since I was hip high to my father.. He instilled fishing and a love for the water within me and I love sharing the experience and my knowledge of our coast and fisheries with others. Capt. Jeff

I really have loved watching your videos, but I think this was the best by the way you broke the video up into segments with information. Awesome video, need to get my 2 boys and myself down for a charter. Keepem' coming!!! Thanks Jeff

Great video capt Jeff. Being in south Alabama I am also an avid Spanish mackerel fisherman. Although pogies are hard to catch in my neck of the woods I use live shrimp and live cigar minnows. Have you ever used live shrimp?

Great vid. I fish for King Salmon on the great lakes. They also love to run ? I use a 7ft med mod rod n a 35 series Pflugear President spinning reel. Would this set up work for Spanish Mackerel. Going to be down that way in Sept
@tbone28728 жыл бұрын
+ron adamiec Absolutely. Spanish mackerel only get to be about 11 or 12 lbs at the biggest. The King Salmon you fish for get way bigger. On that rod and reel you're talking about, you could easily catch King Mackerel up to 30 lbs.
@fishn4lifecharters1878 жыл бұрын
Yes, definately... these spanish typically range from 4 to 7lbs and we catch 10 to 20lb kings in with them... They do get line/leader shy though... I scale down to 10 to 15lb test braid and tie directly to a 20lb seven strand leader 10-15in rigged with no. 4 to 6 gold treble hooks and they rarely shy away from these light rigs...

any tips for inshore spanish?
@donaldtrump50579 жыл бұрын
John Bracewell, yes if you want to go inshore i would use a medium light fishing pole with around twenty pound mono with a thirty pound leader and a circle hook. I catch many mackerel that way.
