She does have great rulers! Yes, I'm showing you the whole project here from start to finish, so it is several steps. But it can be broken down to: 1. Mark 2. Sew 3. Cut 4. Turn 5. Topstitch.

Thanks! It can be used to scallop an edge on a traditionally quilted quilt, too. Binding the scalloped edge is actually fairly simple as long as you make your binding on the bias.

I'm surprised you didn't quilt your two layers together like with a regular quilt. The whole thing will stay flatter, and not wrinkle or bunch up when using it. Also, the word is SANDWICH, not SAMWICH.

Hi. Something a lot of people don't know about me is that English is my second language, and I grew up in a bilingual household. I have virtually no trace of an accent, but I'm still sensitive to people correcting regional or colloquial pronunciations. I'm originally Dutch. Also, this isn't a quilt. A quilt is defined as having 3 layers, and yes, it should be secured together to keep the integrity of the batting. But this purposely doesn't have batting. This is designed to be a lovey or snuggle blanket - those are often scrunched and hugged, so flexibility is actually a benefit here.
