I spoke with a person from Waterloo IA. She never heard about the Sullivans. It shocked me that todays people are forgetting about people who have sacrificed their lives

You're pushing 50 while I'm Hitting 35 and it is still powerful. Crazy how powerful music can be. And what a song. Still a tear jerker

This statement couldn't be any more true!!I'm 37 and this song came out when I was 11 or 12. I absolutely loved it then, and just as much, if not more now! I just listened to it like 5 times and man is it still such a phenomenal song! The emotion is so subtle yet raging with such power at the same time! Doesn't matter how many years in between listening, it'll always be a favorite of mine!!

Seen these guys when I was 10 in 98 opening for kiss. Had so many questions and learned all about the Sullivan brothers. I’m now almost 36 and still listen to this song just as moved as I was 26 years ago

you might still be able to catch Jimmy Newquist performing solo from time to time. He does all the Spine songs. Nothing planned right now, but keep your eye out. www.bandsintown.com/JimmyNewquist

Sorry you missed out on the live shows. They were awesome. Even after replacing the original members, Jimmy Newquist lead an amazing band. The addition of Matt McHann as lead guitar was a fantastic choice. I haven't seen them play in maybe 5 years now. :( I miss them - by far my favorite band of all time.

I saw Jimmy Newquist sing this song, acoustic version on a very cold day at the opening of the Sullivan brothers Iowa Verterans Museum in 2008 in Waterloo, Iowa. I wish I had pics and video but sadly do not. It was a once in a lifetime event. I even got to meet him and thank him for playing that day even though it was only like 15 degrees. It is a day that I will not forget.

Man, I remember Spine in the mid 90's when they would come through OK. They would always crash at fans's houses after the show. What a great group of guys. Went to every show they played in Stillwater and it was always a awesome time.

just finished watching the movie and wanted to know more about the Sullivan family. I was surprised to learn an alternative band made a song in tribute, which led me here. Grateful for posting the lyrics, thank you. I can't imagine how the parents felt when receiving that news. I teared up and had a lump in my throat, and a heavy heart. Not that it matters any, but thank you Caroline's Spine for honoring and memorializing a patriotic family who paid the ultimate price X5.

Both of my Dads older brothers fought in WWII but Dad wasn’t accepted, even though he wanted to go. He always said it was because he had flat feet but I think it can’t help but wonder if it was due to the Sullivan Act. Dad felt so guilty, even though his brothers eventually returned home. RIP to the Sullivan boys and all others who have died fighting for our freedom. 😢🇺🇸
