I work in a village shop and we have a large ish population of elderly and I do enjoy having a natter with the customers, I think it's part of my job.also I started a week hols on the 28 th dec by the 29th started with another cold no 8 in the last 13 months. That's the last 3 new years eve not been well enough to go and celebrate. Hope your well soon ,big hugs x

I live in Berlin and in my local ‘Home Bargains’ type shop, they’ve largely replaced manned tills with 4 self-service ones. There’s one manned till and it is always 8-9 deep, whilst the self-service are empty. Speaks volumes. Merry Christmas, Caroline and thank you for sharing your videos with us this year.

So agree about the human interaction. I have a sense that people are trying to be extra helpful/ friendly.. we have found most people in shops etc to be making a big effort. I think we are all trying to counteract the horrors of the world around us at the moment! 💥

So pleased you enjoyed your holiday (despite the nasty cold). We love a transatlantic crossing and the only way to do it is on QM2. In fact the last few times we’ve done the round trip, we didn’t get bored once! We thought we would try the new Queen Anne and opted for a bit of warmth in the Canaries a couple of weeks ago. I would not recommend the ship. She’s not a patch on the QM2 for space and elegance. Have a restful Christmas and all the best for 2025.

I couldn’t agree with you more Caroline. I went transatlantic in 2016 from Southampton to New York and it was just the best experience ever, as you say no contact with anyone other than the people on the ship it meant I totally relaxed and immersed myself in life onboard . The captain made it very clear to us that it most certainly was not a cruise it was a voyage , a crossing 😂😂😂

Morning Caroline,im catching up on utube so hear i am watching you early in the morning before any one is up so nice to relax with a coffee and listen,i so agree with you about shops with tills i always use them really don't like self service but my daughter flys thought them wear i always go wrong when i use them ,iv also had the 3 week cold bug not good as i had an operation the week before so not well at all but much better now but hubby go it too and i laughed out load when you said men get it worse hope you have a good Xmas and a good new year xx❤😊

Sorry you had the horrid cold - I’ve still got it after 2 weeks although improved it’s still very much there. I’ve passed it onto my son hoping husband doesn’t get it! Hi Caroline, glad you are home safe, although not feeling well. If you have what I had and it sounds like it, my first bout went on for 4 - 5 weeks and then I got a second bout! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The Frederick Forsyth book was published 1971, and the original film 1973. That makes you realise how time has flown when you can remember reading and watching them! Like you, I don’t like packing presents - I like giving them, more than receiving but not packing! Have a lovely Christmas with your family.

Look forward to hearing your Mounjaro update. I stopped it after 3 weeks as I had such awful nausea. Which then became counter productive as I couldn’t face food other than white carbs🙄 lost 2 lbs first week, 4lbs second week and maintained third week. I just couldn’t stand feeling sick all the time. I may restart and see if it does eventually subsides. Wondering if you had any side effects to start with? Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. I won't use the self service tills unless absolutely desperate even if I only have 1 item and have to queue, I have yet to go through a self service one on my own without having a problem of some description and having to wait for someone to come and sort it out! Re the Melatonin gels - forgot to say that the jury is out here in the US - lots of claims that they do nothing, and are not good for you. I did buy some when I was going to the UK this year, and found that as soon as I took one I fell asleep, stayed asleep for about an hour - and then was more wide awake than ever!! Also - Coffee Mate - there's a good reason that things like this aren't available for sale in the UK - you have stricter rules and that should be a warning! A Gonk? Glad you showed one, as I had no idea what you were talking about!

Caroline, regarding your poor sleep. The York Cardiologist(KZbin) strongly recommends Magnesium Bisglycinate (400 mg.) for protective heart health. Added bonus, if you take it before bed it relaxes you and I find that I sleep much better. Ive been doing this for about 3 years.😊
