Well done Maria. I’m also on mounjaro privately and I totally get what you mean about the food noise. I’m 2 weeks ahead of you and I’m already on 7.5mg and I’m almost losing 2lb a week on average. I have lost 19lbs in 10 weeks so far. It doesn’t show on me yet, no-one has even noticed! The biggest difference there is though is that I lose something EVERY week, whereas just dieting alone meant I was up and down the same 5lbs for a year, even though I was sticking to plan. I also don’t feel the need to finish everything or snack in between meals. I was on SW like you and I was clearly making full use of free food etc but now I have 2, sometimes 3, normal portioned out meals and I’m done. It’s soooo liberating not being a slave to food anymore. i definitely resonate with everything you’ve said and I totally support you in your journey. I love your videos and look forward hearing how it’s been going in the next one. Px

Maria, I'm so happy for you! Your results are amazing! I have taken Mounjaro for almost a year and I have lost 70 pounds (5 stone) as of this morning. My starting weight was 4 pounds higher than yours, but I'm only 5'5". I also pay for mine out of pocket and it's $580 from a Canadian pharmacy. In the US, it's $1200/month!!!! Make sure you get as much protein in as you can, like 100 grams or more. Also, don't be surprised if you lose hair. Weight loss triggers it. I feel the same as you, I don't ever want to feel out of control ever again. It's like being on a level playing field as normal people. I too, love love love brussel sprouts, have you tried them done in the air fryer, just cut in half with a slight drizzle of olive oil and some salt and pepper for about 15 minutes on 200 degrees, delicious. Hi Maria l started my journey a week ago - not the best time with it being Christmas week!! Therefore, l think that’s why l only lost a disappointing 1lb ☹️ but better 1lb off than many lbs on. I am about to do my 6th jab (I do the 5th out of pen), and am gong up to 5mg today, little apprehensive due to all the stories I read, hoping to continue with little side effects. I too feel absolutely great, I started at 28st and at 5ft 5 I have a massive amount to lose..so far in 5 weeks I lost 1st 1 1/2lb…so happy with that and that’s with meals out and Christmas. I am using this medication as a tool, and am determined to change my relationship with food forever, I know I can do it…it’s just amazing, and appreciate it’s expensive but my health is worth every penny and I will save in other ways to carry on. Excellent update, Maria. I was okay on 7.5 but for me, 10mg is just brilliant! No more food noise at all and since I began, I have now lost 30 pounds with no starvation and hunger pangs. I am diabetic so I qualified to get the drug and my insurance pays so I am not out of pocket. Injection sites vary per individual as it depends where you have fat pads. I read where people had better appetite suppression using the back of the right arm so I tried it with great results so if you feel like you can do better, move your injection site. I have even used the fat on my thigh which was fine. You hang in there!

Hi Maria, an interesting update. I was a little surprised that you increased the dosage when you had lost the weight on the original. My reasoning would have been that given that there is some ‘bad press’ about this type of medication, it would be better to take a little as possible to be successful in having an acceptable weight loss which you have had. Do you just pay for the prescription whatever the dosage, or does it cost more if the dosage is higher? You are obviously happy to follow your plan, and the evidence is there in the photos, and the happiness in your face. I am like you in that I cannot just eat one or two pieces of something that I know I should limit myself. I can understand how great you feel, as I can remember being able to get into some trousers and zip them up, when I had not done that for years - and wear a belt! (Unfortunately, the weight loss was because I had a serious parasitic illness after an African holiday - but the upside was feeling so much better in my clothes!) Please keep us updated, as many of your viewers will be interested in how you get on done the line. Many thanks for sharing this.
