I made this but I have an extra base 6 1/4 x 6 1/2 piece it does say 2 or am I reading it wrong?

Hi Deborah ... no you only need one of each piece. Base 1 is the first piece and Base 2 is the second piece. If I'd wanted you to cut more than one you would have seen x2 or x3 etc. xx
