I know you did this years ago but your instructions have allowed me to root almost all of our babies in the nursery . Still working at it but your breakdown has helped so much. THANK YOU😎

I think the very best part of this video is that you are LEFT handed as am I. I can't believe I've had my Hazel for two years already! I had to double check and dug out her paper work. Joy of joys I had forgotten that you had send a little bag of her hair for future touch ups!! She just needs a little touch up around her temples and after watching your video I know I can do it. Anyone thinking about getting a baby made by Carolyn I would do it. She is wonderful to work with and the video's don't do justice to how lifelike her babies are.

Just a suggestion Carolyn, Jackie Ortiz uses clay to make into holders for her rooting needles. She has a video on her KZbin channel. She basically takes a small ball of clay, wraps it around her needle and makes two indentations for her finger and thumb. And voila.❤️ Jackie spends 40 -50 hours to root a head! Phew, sounds exhausting. 😩 She also has an amazing hair cutting video on her channel if your interested.😊

Fiona Morris that’s a really useful tip thank you 😊

Very helpful. The holder that came with the needles made the needles snap. But doing the rooting by hand worked so much better. I'd forgotten Jackie did that tutorial so thank you three years on.

Fascinating! You always do yourself down saying you are not the best in the world. I think you are brilliant! I have been wondering how the hair is rooted. Thank you, definitely not boring! I'm left handed and always had tremendous difficulty with right handed scissors. Even now not all manufacturers of scissors have cottoned on to the fact we need the blades the opposite way round, not just the handles and they market them as for left or right handed which is impossible. If baby's hair gets pulled out in places at a later date through over zealous brushing/combing can more hair be rooted in its place?

He is soooooo adorable! I bought a couple already made but they are bald. I have made many reborn vinyl babies and I’m pretty good at it. Never had a problem selling them and my rooting wasn’t bad but nothing near as good as yours. I’ve never worked with a silicone baby before. Can I use the same paints on them as I would on a vinyl doll? I know they have to be in the oven to set the paint and I’m not putting my silicone baby in the oven, I think that would be a very bad idea…lol. I do have some paints like the gloss for lips that doesn’t require heat, can I use that on them? Thank you so much for your video, finally one that made sense

Oh wow that was so amazing to watch and im so relieved to see this being accomplished using 46 crown and not fork needle cos I cant get on with a fork needle, and no complicated swirl either, only thing I need to master is rooting from the end, you make it look so easy and so fast as well, Will soon be ready to root mine, hope I can achieve as good as you showed hear.
@CarolynDoughtyDolls5 жыл бұрын
Susan Ripley hi, I used to root with more of a complicated swirl but I find you can still brush into a lovely swirl without making life so difficult and it looks just as natural - and most mums adopting don’t brush into the swirl so much either. Just my opinion. So yes I root directionally but simplify it for myself 😊💜

@CarolynDoughtyDolls6 жыл бұрын
Kasey Musgrove I use mohair or Suri alpaca so it is real hair but obviously not human hair. Human hair can be used for older dolls and toddlers but it is too coarse for a baby. I’ve personally never used human hair.

how do you keep the hair from coming out after your done? is it sealed or does it seal its self? i know people will be burshing it and styling it so want the hair just keep pulling out?
@CarolynDoughtyDolls5 жыл бұрын
doug jones there is no way to glue hair on a silicone, Altho each hole does grip the hair to a degree to minimise hair loss. if the owner is very careful the shedding will be minimal but yes there will be a little shedding. They can be rooted if this happens.

Ive just finished ypur entire video. Im so sad! Please please please go and get some basic instruction on cutting hair! I noticed you didnt spiral the hair from the beginning. Theres am important reason for making the spiral at the start of rooting. The spiral comtrols the way the hair lays, and ensures there is the right amount of hair growing in the correct direction. Even if you plan it to just comb forward. I was so impress with you and your videos. This is mot thevend but you really need some instruction regarding both marking, rooting and cuttung the hair. Also pleasecremember to use thinning shears rather than straight ✂️ scissors. The allows you to trim the hair in a segmented way rather than a block which is really unforgiving. Please take my feedback as constructive as I really think youre great and well talented,.
