The best feeling reading a book is the "speed up-slow down" pace. You love it so much you're tempted to read really fast and fly through it, but you force yourself to slow down because you don't want it to end

When a book gets you emotional to the point of crying a river 😂, you know you've discovered something timeless and special. I never heard of Howl's Moving Castle, but I'll keep it in mind going forward☑ Cheers to the joy that comes with reading🤗

Was so surprised seeing my comment pop up in the video 😅 So fun! I love both the book and the movie so you starting the book club was a great excuse to do a reread! Might have to watch the movie this weekend as well. I just love the magic and whimsy of it all.

I joined your book club. I ordered a used copy of Howl’s Moving Castle from Thriftbooks. Reading it now. Slow start because I was hooked on Bram Stoker’s Dracula! Finished Dracula last night (so good!) so now I can catch back up with Howl’s.

I so love how we book lovers hug the books we love. 🥰I put my favorite books on my nightstand, so I see them first thing in the morning. 🤭 Howl's Moving Castle is definitely a modern classic. I have no doubt that I will be re-reading this book for many years.

I recently read it, too, for the first time and loved how whimsical it was 💫 I also enjoyed the quirks of all the characters, everybody just felt so individual and real and odd in a good way. Plus, the underlying melancholy of Howl and his origins really made it a heartfelt book to me. I love a good pinch of melancholy. Another thing I loved was Sophies relation to her sisters. And that through their different point of view on the world, also Sophie learns to view things from different perspectives (for example, when she first thinks, Fanny is a truly good woman, then after talking with one of her sisters she sees her as selfish, but then again she learns that you can see it from different perspectives and she must be open to that). I sometimes struggled a little with the pacing, it sometimes felt very slow, then again very fast, especially in the ending, and I felt like not all the topics were fully resolved at the end, but this just was something that made me think about the book even more after having finished it - and so I think it is not a bad thing. Maybe we will also get some more information in the sequels? All in all: LOVED IT! I'm curious to watch the movie (and would also love to hear your take on the movie!!) Thank you for your cute and informative video on the book 😍 Sorry, this comment became waaay longer than expected 😅

Howl's Moving Castle is one of my all time favourite books, I have reread it quite a few times ❤ I adore the edition that you have and really want to get my hands on it 😍 I just find the characters and the story so comforting and cozy. Hearing you talk about it just made me want to reread it again. Also, Castle in the Air and House of Many Ways are companion books to Howl's. They are set in the same world but they follow different characters, some characters from Howl do make an appearance in them as well ☺

I watched the movie of Howl's Moving Castle for the first time a few months ago and I loved it. I haven't read the book but I will. I notice that when a story that's a movie or show gets turned into a book after the movie or show isn't as good, because it feels like you're reading the script. They try to add details and put you in the character's head, but it's not the same as if the book had come first.

Howl’s Moving Castle is one of my favorite books of all time!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it 🥰 the movie is close to my heart too, it’s the first movie my husband and I watched together when we first started dating. Thanks to your book club I read Howl's Moving Castle, however I couldn't put it aside to only read a few pages a day and raced through the pages. Then my son found the animated story and we watched it together, there is quite a big difference in the visual vs. book but I loved the book and liked the visual.

Congratulations on your new book club, Carolyn, and best wishes for its success now as well as in the foreseeable future! As soon as I can - my tbr is pretty well set for a few months at least - I will be able to join you for a few good reads. On that note, I've a quick question for you: Now I've finished Anne of Green Gables, am I encouraged to read the second, third, etc novels in the 8-book series? I really did enjoy it, even if I have some doubts to what extent she is able to make hard decisions of her own. Of course, that could be a result of being a writer's character, but it's very, very good. So, Thanks!

I’m not sure where you’re having the issue, but you can find the app in the App Store on your phone. You can also click the link in my description box and it should bring you to the Fable app and my book club in particular. After that it should be pretty self explanatory :)

I just found this channel, and I’m very interested in your book club. However, in this video, I think you are telling too much about the book before anyone has a chance to read it. I don’t want to know how it ends, so I just turned off the video at six minutes into it.
