Caron Anniversary cake review and swatch test!

I put mine in a bowl with an empty paper towel roll shoved in the center. When the center hole gets to big for the paper towel roll, I find something bigger. It definitely requires internal support.

I'm not sure if this will work with how the newer Cakes are made, but with the older ones I have learned over the last 4 years or so that you are supposed to leave the label on and the plastic on that goes around the top and bottom. Just cut the yarn off the white round sticker on the top, but leave the sticker in place. It keeps the Cake together at least half way through, THEN it turns into a tangled mess. But it tends to stay half way through that way. Wish it was made better. Again, that may only be with how the older Cakes were made.

Nice review. I have never had these anniversary cakes or used/felt them. The colors are pretty... hard for me to decide between the pebbles, the brown one, the green one and the purple one and the other ones. 😊

I just got my first anniversary cake and although the center pull tab can be convenient, I don’t prefer center pulls bc of the collapse. I have mine in a large tote which helps a ton!

The color changes are not good , for some reason you get all one color on one side for example in the color pebble stone there is a blue color and it’s always on the left side of my blanket, even when I work on both sides and so one side of the blanket has blues and the other has black and grey its weird. Also once the ball starts to get smaller it falls apart even when keeping the label in place cause the ball shrinks and the yarn becomes a tangled mess , it has a fuzziness to it so it sticks together and is almost impossible to untangle. This stuff is a disaster in my opinion.

Yeah I had the same thing with the color pooling. I forgot to test frigging it dang it. And omg it falls apart bad. Not a fan myself
