There are actually more communities out there than just Carova. It goes, Swan, North Swan and then Carova. Unfortunately, paved roads are coming. It’s just a matter of time. I miss living there. Thanks for sharing.

There is a locked gate into VA through the wildlife refuge and into Sandbridge, VA beach, Norfolk. You need to prove residence in Corova and employment in VA. in order to get a key to the lock.

Thanks for the history lesson Spent Christmas there last year and walked most of it The best place to spend Christmas is a place with no stores. Speaking of accents it’s pronounced Cau-RO-va down east

About 12 of the resident's here have a key to acess the gate into sandbridge, but they cant pass it down when they die. Theres definitely more than 50 of us now id say it's closer to 200 now

Locals will know you're not from there if you say Corolla (like the Toyota car). It's Ca-raw-la. Really cool video though. Did you have to edit out any horses? I have been through this area 20-25 times and always see a few wandering around. I hope they never pave a road out there.

It would’ve been one of the better Carova videos had the sound not cut out toward the end.
