Carp Angler becomes Homeless for the Night! 😮 (Fox & Off The Streets Essex)

Carp Fishing is amazing and can be a huge source for good! This year we wanted to spread some Christmas cheer, not only to anglers but to those not as fortunate as us. We reached out to Off The Streets Essex to see what we can do to help and what started as a small donation and helping to raise awareness, became something much bigger!

I would of loved to do this as I was homeless once and it was really hard and it was freezing and I was always hungry but thankfully I managed to get into a sheared house Association called yellow ribbon and they have helped me so much and I have come so far plus i would love to be blessed as I ain’t got a lot of carp fishing stuff as I ain’t as well of as most and I have been trying to get the stuff I need for ages but sadly ain’t been able to get it and I would of loved to help some people out with my sleeping thermals and sleeping bag and stuff as a Christian I try to help people as much as I can and it’s hard as I struggle myself but I do what I can keep up the grate work and kindness guys love your videos but most of all I love carp fishing. This is amazing as a young lad who was homeless on the streets battling myself with my mental health… I cannot thank you enough for doing this!!! I can remember having to ask a lady for 10 pounds to buy a sleeping bag to just stay warm and how devastating it was… I’m in a little bit of a better situation now only a little but I’m getting there got my fishing license the other day and brought a rod too and tHis community is showing me a person who lost all hope that the fishing community is the right family to join 💙

What a wonderful thing to do fox for the homeless. I did a similar thing a year ago by donating half a dozen sleeping bags and thermal wraps to my local salvation army to hand out to the homeless

Fair play to you, I spent a couple of years on the streets, it deff aint a easy life and the way 90% of the general public treat you is horrible, was spat at, kicked while sleeping, had my stuff burnt more times then i can remember, but i also met some of the kindest and friendliest people ive ever met while on the streets.

Well done Harry you made my day watching that video. We have a homeless centre where I live in Deeside North Wales. I taken them a Christmas cake down for them today. I think it was there Xmas Dinner today so I taken them that cake. I walk the dog past the centre every night I always talk to someone outside I fell sorry for them. So iv done my good deed for the day.

Years ago I lived at my local club lakes for the entire winter, moving from one lake to the next doing nights in -2c and still getting up for work. I just kept finding the fish and as sleep deprived and tired as I was, it was better than being in the house of drama with my ex partner. Not very keen on doing nights in minus weather anymore but certainly good sport to be had doing days in the winter. Tight lines people and merry Christmas

I love that you tried to sleep on the streets it’s harder than it looks I couldn’t get any sleep myself most the time as it was to cold and noisy and I used to get picked on by other people that weren’t homeless or on the streets it’s sad how people are now why not help rather than upset me and other homeless People I was homeless for 6 months and it was so hard to deal with and keep warm and get food and stuff it was horrible i would of loved this help when I was in need god bless you guys for helping the homeless and donating new stuff to people who donated there stuff to help out keep up the grate work

This country a food for thought here. we as fishermen can put a bivi up and sleep in it as long as we want but some one living on the street can’t put a tent up to sleep in as it’s against the law and I no what people are thinking tents everywhere but there is enough green land for the tents but then no body should be on the streets as people we are all different in every way including mind set

Wow Lee! We have only been working with Off the Streets from this winter, we posted about it in October. This video is all about spreading some Christmas cheer and raising awareness about a real issue. Looking through the comments we feel like we have done that, but looks like you’ve missed the point. I had issues with fox items recently,rather than donate or return I was told to destroy so as not to resell and provide photos of destroyed items to receive replacement. Kind of goes against what this video is trying to prove.

little confused why not just donate the new thermal WATER PROOF covers (needed more) straight to the homeless instead of swapping a new one and a new rod for old stuff that probably ain't waterproof , if you never done that you could of donated a crap load more of covers that were needed for the cost of the rods you give away 🤷‍♂

The idea was to get the wider angling community involved too, while spreading some Christmas cheer and to give people an idea of what to do with their old sleeping bag if they are upgrading, rather than just throwing them away. In total we gave 21 brand new sleeping bags to the charity, along with 18 donated ones 👍

love what your doing, but would it not be better to donate direct to the ones living on the streets? And from a personal point our forces are the worst effected once they leave! not going into the politics of it.. look after those who served us.. not those who take from us! stuff like this annoys me personally as I had to live on the streets when I left and only due to my families kind nature was able to find a place! while others get everything from the corrupt nature of this country.

This isn’t going to a massive charity, Off The streets Essex is a small charity working directly with homeless people. We are 100% confident this will go to the right people. Kirsty told us about the amount of ex servicemen she works with. It’s devastating. She and the charity are the experts and will get the donations to those that need it most, for sure

Need a charity like that in Wales I was registered homeless for 8years and the local council told me because I had no children not mentally ill or just left prison I was not priority to house... Ye thanks for nothing Welsh government.... Keep up the great work guys and girls
