Everyone hates carp where I live but I love em. Not because they taste good but they’re the only freshwater fish you can catch consistently over 10 pounds and they can put up a good amount of fight. Because they thrive in “dirty water” they’re easy to find even in city limits. I don’t have to drive around spot to spot looking for em.

Here in Australia they are classed as a noxious and invasive species. If caught it is illegal to return them to the water . I’ve caught quite a few over the 20lb mark when fishing for trout, locally they are known as “Mud Marlins” .

Carp do not average 20lbs Edit: at least not here in the United States, I noticed this is about Europe and dont know how big they average there. Great video with lots of interesting information, 👍 for sure.
