Bradleys Lake in the cotswold water park is the ultimate big fish day ticket water. It's a massive expanse of water spanning some 114 acres and holds carp over 40lb. There are many challenges to face when taking on this huge lake. Join me in Part 1 of my 2020 road trip where I attempt to get lucky and catch a carp from one of the hardest day tickets around. I go into detail about finding a spot and give rig tips, tactics and advice to help you tackle such huge waters.

Inspiration mate I have a 340 acre water near me called Alton water It’s so daunting but things like your video show me the challenge is why we do it. Overcoming adversity. The water I want to fish has virtually 0 information online and everyone that has caught is so secretive. I’ve got some homework to do!

Cheers for your comment mate. I'll be honest I have to disagree, tips in the air in 60mph wind with weed beds the size of double decker buses is not the one. If the weed was static then yes fishing tips up to keep the line up over it would work but with weed coming through anywhere from your rod tips to 80 yards out there's no way of stopping it taking your lines out 👍

Great video mate but in my opinion I would of had my tips high up and tight lines that way it would of been way past the weed, plus I reckon with that spod mix all you did was attract the silvers and other species in. Try the avid bag stems or the bank tackle bag stems way better way of doing your bags mate can loop to loop them on and off with having to take the lead off , or if you want to fish drop off with your inline leads look at fishing the fox inline drop off system with a leader you can have your bags all ready made up and ready to go, keep up the good work mate
@SimonDewCarpFishing

Cheers for your comment an opinions mate. The weed wasn't just close in though it was all the way out coming through in big patches between my bank and the middle of the lake. Wherever my lines were they would have caught the weed and fishing tips up with 60mph winds isn't the one especially with boats, swans, swimmers etc etc. At least with the tips low you have a chance the weed passes over the top.

Did you try putting your rods really high like sea fishing? That may of got your lines up and out the water over the weed?
@SimonDewCarpFishing
@SimonDewCarpFishing 4 жыл бұрын
The weed was everywhere mate so wherever the lines entered the water they would have picked up the weed. Also the boats/swimmers/swans etc mean your lines have to be as low as possible. My tips were actually touching the lake bed by the end and still the line got dragged.
