I want to start a carp fishing world tournament here in Austin, Texas we have millions of carp that no one has ever fished for basically they are unadulterated, we are all bass angler's here but, when I was a child my grandfather taught me the finer art of carp fishing we used cattle cake to draw them in and we used what we call Wheatie balls it's an American breakfast cereal, breakfast of champions so they say as anyway I wonder what it would take to get all the best carp anglers from around the world to fish Austin, Texas a tournament of epic proportions would it take $50,000 dollars or 100,000 dollar purse I wonder if that would draw the world's best carp fishermen?

I accidentally caught one that was 52" long last summer I have no clue what he weighed in at but, at 52 inches long im guessing maybe 40 to 50 lb range, it was a lucky catch on 12lb test line took near an hour as every time i came close to landing the thing it would pull a runner and I would lose all that line I had gained to the drag system probably the largest carp of my life although i remember some as child of 12 or 13 years that were chest high, large very large, over the past ten years of fishing everyday I have only come across one carp fishermen he was an englishmen about 5 years ago he had seen the carp in one of my local ponds and was giving it a go, i dont know if he ever got one but if he did he was massive i have some of the carp there on video and they are huge four feet in length with dorsal fins that look like sharks
