I don't even like carp fishing but for some reason just the passion of the anglers made me want to watch the whole thing. I guess I am going to have to give carp another chance.

Fantastic video - and a new take on the traditional format. The most impressive thing for me was seeing both Carl & Alex, and Alfie Russell doing what they do best, catching beautiful carp with so much passion and enthusiasm - and not a single bite alarm in sight!!! Fantastic stuff - keep it up guys! AL

Fantastic, all these guys are exceptionally talented young anglers in a very fortunate position to be both employed by, and learning from Kev Nash. I have to say though that Alan Blair has knowledge, talent and incredible ablility way beyond his 30 years. The whole film is an inspiration. Thankyou chaps.

What a great way for young men to grow up. I was raised in South Carolina in the States and the only place carp were fished was in the backwaters of spill ways from lakes and medium sized creeks. I am 78 now so it was in the late 40s and early 50s of the last century and I learned all there was to carp fishing from my nanny who was my and my brother's keeper while our mother worked full time to help with the family income. I was a world almost no one who reads this would understand and I have long since quit trying to explain it. But from this clip, I notice that the lads possessed a netting material to stuff with bread to catch the carp. We did it a little different. You would take flour and corn meal and cook this mixture in water for about five minutes and drain off when the mixture was the consistency of pie dough. You pinch of a small amount and roll it between your two palms and when it took the shape of a tear drop you would hook it from the fat bottom and leave the point inside the dough ball. The corn meal and flour formed an adhesive that kept the ball on lthe hook even if it was being mouthed by a carp. If there was carp present, we would catch them. We considered them worthless because they had too many bones to be worth eating. Like I said, it was a long time ago and everything was different.

In the beginning of this, I was quite taken aback at how enthusiastic the 2 boys were about fishing at that quaint little spot they were at! I remember my son at that age, going fishing with his best friend at their favorite fishing hole....but they never went out at first light. lol....it was more like, noon. lol!!

Many USA rivers are loaded with big carp. They grow powerful from the current. Fun to catch. Carp are famous for quickly removing fishing poles from the river bank of anglers not paying attention. You learn quick to watch like a hawk. You might get one or two taps and then your rod is gone. One bonus with carp fishing in the more northern rivers is that smallmouth bass enjoy corn as well. Many folks don't know that. The lakes (and rivers) here are virgin territory for big carp. Toss out a handful of corn and prepare for combat.
