Most songs that Karen sings will mesmerize you because her voice always draws you in. No one like her.

Thanks Inna! Beautiful reaction! Was lucky to have seen The Carpenters in concert twice. Her voice was so perfect it sounded like you were in a studio recording. The only other concert that I attended where vocals were that perfect was with Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart. Be Safe.

wow I agree with you. Karen best female and Wilsons also excellent. I think we have similar taste. Mine was questionable when Carpenters started but now I'm vindicated. I think.

Fortunately everybody is in love with Inna, she's pure concentrated sunshine, the rest is up to her.

Many can sing louder, and some higher, but NO ONE will EVER sing as well as KC, NO ONE.

One of my two favorite female singers. The other is Judith Durham, from the 60's Aussie group The Seekers. To my ears, both simply have the best control, range & perfection.

Actually... that last look is very sad..and it makes me tear up, all the time...

Having grown up with Carpenters wonderful music, and seeing Karen's sad story unfold, that look she gives is heartbreaking. I wish she had known how beautiful she was. So, so, sad that this wonderful woman did not find the true love she so desperately sought, and so richly deserved! Karen and her ANGELIC voice was taken too soon. Rest in peace beautiful Karen.

Dear Inna, it's not the song that's so powerful, it's who's singing it.

Even as early as 1976, you can already see her struggles with the eating disorder that would lead to her passing. To this big Karen fan, it's just heartbreaking. So missed !

Hang in there Inna. I'm sure a sweet good natured lovely lady like you will find true love and not have to lower your standards. I can definitely relate to the lyrics myself.....someday!

She never faltered vocally. You will not find a clip of her singing badly. She was quite simply staggering vocally. She also loved her brother a bit too much which caused a bit of a stir at the time...because if it is fine for girls to obsess about their brother then the opposite is also fine. And it isn't. (And before anyone says "it was innocent". No it wasn't. She knew it and so did he.)

I don't see any Journey reactions. If you haven't heard them, you should! Steve Perry has the greatest voice of all time! I'd recommend starting with Winds of March. ❤

Karen Carpenter - an angelic voice never matched apart from possibly Eva Cassidy. RIP both of you. Karen suffered, and died from anorexia before it was understood as it is today. A tragic waste
