This was probably the last interview The Carpenters gave where they expressed their views on politics and such. The label told them not to do that anymore and their future interviews were much more coached out.

I think Karen would have been about 19 at this time. This station 1000AM in Chicago is now a sports station 50,000 watts daytime not too far from where I live.
