so we went to check on the carpentry... and the workmanship is so bad...
ok but we hope they can still help to salvage this after we told them our comments. stay tune for our updates

hello! I’m currently facing the same problem regarding your tall unit not flushed to the wall. They said my wall is slanted. How did your ID and carpenters rectify it?

hello!! thank you all for watching the video! as an earlier comment pointed out, we learnt that the gaps between the walls might be unfinished work that would be touched up using white silicon and are not defects as we mentioned in the video! (apologies for that xD) the reno works are still ongoing, so hopefully the other problems will be fixed. our ID is communicating with us to see how we can solve them :)

also, we just realised the difference in depth of carpentry is for the cabinet doors which are not yet installed! ps our bad for miscomm haha

Btw for the tall units there’s a difference in plywood length (not aligned) cause there’ll be a cabinet door. (20mm) but this is quite bad, when the carpenters installed they should take note of site too and not just blindly install, waste their time too if end up got problem. This is quite poor workmanship but one reason why the errors are more easily spotted is cause y’all use lighter colors. But still makes no excuse, a lot of the laminate finishing is pasted badly.

the carpenter yet finish, they typically finish the wall and cabinet gap with white silicon to defeat your eyes. -.- but seriously this carpenter workmanship really shitty.

actually we are quite blur as to whether it was finished but assumed it was then we feedback to the ID about these works haha. Afew days ago, we just went to check and yeah it was filled with white silicon, and we kinda assumed that it's supposed to be like this, do you know if it's supposed to be normally filled up or how is it supposed to be like? yeah... hope they rectify at least the feature wall for us D:

@@shalamainemaine there always gaps between wall and wooden cabinet, about max 5-6mm, then finish with silicon.If gap too big silicon not able to fill, the carpenter will redo the finishing strip (收尾）again. Silicon comes with white, transparent,etc glossy (non paint-able), white matt (paint-able). White matt silicon since are paint-able, the painter able to touch-up to make cabinet blend into wall. As for the feature wall, my guess the gap maybe fill with stainless steel/ golden brass strip or even intended black groove depending on the design :? i have no idea. :D

@@vincejr1636 hello! we discussed mainly with our ID and he'll communicate it with the contractors. :) he did draft out 2D and 3D pics for us to visualize and also we discussed the dimensions for quite some time because we kept changing what we wanted. eg the part above the fridge area; we agreed that the left and right top carpentry were supposed to be levelled to look better but it wasnt. not sure if they'll replace it for us because we also dont wanna delay renovation works anymore if its not too bad a problem hope that answers your question!
