I have end stage kidney failure, the treatment also ended up giving me heart failure. I am currently on the transplant list and am awaiting a kidney. One big question I have had is what to do post transplant for a career. I worked in printing most of my life and hated it. I have decided (largely from watching you) to try SETT/VLM carpet cleaning. I plan to start small and do small residential work while I recover (I can earn a bit of money while on disability). I bought the Oreck and have a commercial grade Sanitaire vacuum (I used a handheld Kenmore Stratrus for going around the base boards). I did my sister's house, she is taking care of me right now, and it turned out great! I used Green Dragon, the black brush to agitate and the Ironman pads to extract. Her carpet is 15 years old never been professionally cleaned and it looks amazing right now. Thank you so much for your videos they really have brought me hope that I may have a future again when I am better. Thank you for teaching us all how to do this.

Some advice from a 38 year vet in the industry, do not clean natural fiber area rugs or wool carpets until you are fully educated on them and the products/ methods to use (they are DRASTICALLY different than carpet), buy several hogs hair pad and cut them to size for your oreck (huge upgrade over the black brush), pick up go oxy and add 5ozs per gal to your pretreatment for every job, pick up awesome encap and use it as a spotter at 5-6ozs per quart in a trigger sprayer for general spotting. These 4 tips will give you a heads start on producing great consistent results and hopefully make up for some lost time. Best wishes to you 👍

@@JF-- Thanks so much, I knew about the wool and natural fiber and how easy it is to damage them. I have so much time on my hands being disabled that I have been spending a lot of time learning from various people. I actually have 5 hogs hair pads but my sisters carpet is pretty soft so I wanted to use the black brush on it to start. Worked really well, it actually pulled a lot of cat fur and dandur that the vacuum missed. I had to give my brush a good scrubbing after each room. I got some Go Oxy. I was planning on using magic bullet for my spotter but I will definitely try out Awesome Encap too. Thanks so much for the tips, I really appreciate it!

Wow! Your story is very motivating. You are a true survivor. I’m so glad that you found my channel and it has been an inspiration for the next step in your life. Please continue to comment on my videos and update us how you’re doing. If you haven’t already joined the Facebook group Pad life do so. It’s a great source of knowledge. It was developed by Encapstore owner, Damon Williams, who is my main supplier, and a very good friend.

Hey bro can you please tell me what the battery powered sprayer you are using @9.00 mins is called. I still use a hand pumped one and that looks perfect. is it just a pressure washer handle?
Seems a lot of your work is high end (nothing wrong with that) but do you ever encounter “trashed” I worked for a guy and when we did he had a mighty portable we’d extract with and then bonnet and groom ..have you done that? ..just curious

I price my rates to avoid those trashed carpets. However, I have done them and use the same method you described 👍🏼👍🏼
