Just remembering how good Hilltop Hoods are….. geez, they got talent. And yes, I’ll drive my cruiser over the Nullarbor to volunteer it for any demonstration installation. Red dust included, gratis! Thanks for the great install videos.

For someone on a tight budget, after installing Noico butyl sheets, would residential carpet padding hold up and work in an automobile as an underlayment in the floor and roof to reduce some sound?
@carbuilders16 жыл бұрын
Hi Randy. You could.... however there are so many variation of residential carpet underlay its hard to comment some are too thick, not flexible enough, won't work in a complex horizontal areas, hold water etc. It may be more hassle than its worth. We would recommend staying with a product targeted at vehicles.

For your next video, I'd gladly volunteer my vehicle for a installation guidance video.

What is the different between stage 1 and stage 2 ? Can you explain please
@Mr215Alive5 жыл бұрын
So this stage (the foam) is for temp control not sound deadening?
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr215Alive This foam comprises of open cell and closed cell foam so it treats both to a degree. It also acts as a decoupling layer which removes the carpet /feet from the heat sink floor pan/sound deadener. 😎👍

@@carbuilders1 sweet! Thanks.

As far as I know, CCL acts as decoupler, keeping vibration from going from dampening materials to the butyl. Therefore the CCL should face down, while the butyl should face up.

I know im late but is the stage 2 necessary? My plan was to lay the stage 1 material with aluminium on the floors from pedals to the end of the trunk, and do the acoustic foam on the doors. Would that be enough or do i need the stage 2 material on the floor too? Please i need help :)

If I was going to raptor line after stage one is that okay? Or do you recommend stage 2 as well?
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
Are you going to put carpet on top, if so we cover this in this video (go to 11:42 minutes) kzbin.info/www/bejne/baDbmneraKebmtE If you want a bare, exposed look you can do that but it will be missing one of the sound treatments 👍
@saabin907-55 жыл бұрын
@@carbuilders1 I was thinking of laying down the sound deading then painting over it with raptor liner. I have carpet now but gets so dirty with work boots.
@carbuilders15 жыл бұрын
Yes, just rub over the Sound Deadener with 180 paper to ensure it keys in. 👍

Quick question stage one has finished, lining my entire 1997 patrol y60 td42. The boot floor has heaps of bolts and screws I have left exposed so I can build or from the boot at some stage. I have the stage 2 ready to go but want advise on how to tackle this with the this material. Was easy enough to cut the stage 1 and expose the the nuts etc but not sure if it will be the same with stage 2.

Frame the boot...
@carbuilders14 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew. Depends which Stage 2 product you were looking at using. If you use the Mass Noise Liner, it isn't a peel and stick but rather sits under it own weight so you can easily come back when your ready and punch holes through the material where required. If you are using a peel and stick foam, you will need to template around the areas you want exposed. Feel free to get us a call during the week on 03 8777 0960

Champion mate, so I got the acoustic underlay but will use that elsewhere in the vehicle. Will measure up and go with the sound barrier floor mat :)
@haran6354 жыл бұрын
Agreed going for the mass noise as the size fits a lot better. Thanks again! Install kit is magic! Excellent videos and products

Hi myschef1 There are a range of Stage 2 products (various foams and mass loaded vinyl options) www.carbuilders.com.au/interior/ What are you putting the product in?

Mate I found it almost impossible to start the peel process and the wax sheet often tore in parts. Often thebopen cell foam delaminates when you try to peel the wax backing off.
