Always fascinating to see how wild carp react to bait and rigs. No surprise that it can take awhile to get apickup

This truly opened my eyes to how often fish can be present in your swim without giving any indication. There were times when the screen was loaded with fish, and not a single indication above the surface. Glad you enjoyed it!

Great video 👍 So what's your consensus on the shot on the hook? Did you notice more bites turn into catches? Your ratio of hooking the fish seems to be high, was there any bites that got away? , that was not included in the final video?
@WilliamMuschett3 ай бұрын
@Ashley-dy7bx based on our observations, the two rigs had 5 direct interactions where the rig fully entered the mouth (one from "shovel face/nose" which evidently struggled to pick up bait in general) 4/5 of those interactions as seen on camera resulted in a fish being hooked and landed which in my eyes makes this rig absolutely brilliant. I have full confidence that should that rig be picked up, it's more likely than not going to find lip.
@ontcarpn3 ай бұрын
When the hook entered a carps mouth it was caught. We had the Popup enter I believe two carps mouth but not the hook. This rig preformed far better than I expected. Good at getting that run on the first opportunity a fish picks up the whole rig. The only other rig I have tested so far to have the same hook up ratio is the LQ rig which essentially is a hair rig with a kicker tied with steamlink or any other coated braid. Strip back a small section from the end of the kicker back (2-3cm) and you are good to go. Either one of these rigs is be confident with using.

ive recently started using the shot on the hook rig, and im very impressed with its results, they are hooked soon as they suck it in, great rig
@WilliamMuschettАй бұрын
@darrenking3622 from many moons ago when I first stumbled upon it, I noted that it was mechanically a brilliant rig. Happy to hear you are having similar success!
@yasinturkoglu8792 ай бұрын
Great Job. Could you please advise that weight of shot and size of the hook ?
@WilliamMuschett2 ай бұрын
@yasinturkoglu879 Thanks! For both rigs I used a size 4 curve shank and a BB/AAA size shot (depending on size of bait/buoyancy) I have gone as far as an SSG sized shot when fishing larger pop ups.

Another great video! Can you tell me what brand/style rod-pod you’re using in the vid? Can it be purchased and delivered in the US? It’s time for me to update mine and the one you’re using looks sturdy and multi positioned. Thanks a lot - Joe (New Sub from from the US)👍
@WilliamMuschett22 күн бұрын
@josephquinn7356 Truthfully, that pod is an entry-level one that I purchased for my guiding operations. It can be purchased off of Amazon. The brand is Coonor, and it's comparable to most entry-level brand name carp product!
