Carradice Super C Front Pannier Review - for cycle touring / bikepacking & commuting

I've been using a pair of these as my only panniers, both on the front and rear, for over 25 years. Many long and short tours, commuting, shopping, allotment gardening...I've treated them brutally and they've never once let me down. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Yes they are a good company too. There service is amazing if you ever need to speak to them. Classics don’t go out of fashion :)

Bought set of these in January 022. Ok it's only seven months of use but I am so pleased with them. I could have bought cheaper panniers but from your review and others made me realise it would be an investment. Surprise how much shopping they hold. If I look after them, which I will they will outlast me. Thanking you

Yes there stuff is so strong. And with their customer service a repair is always possible. So they will last many years.

Aluminum is the proper pronunciation...but I like your video....I have a set of Carradice Super C back Panniers and have been thinking about a set for the front wheel....smaller ones of course.

I have the front and rear Carradice super c panniers and the do hold a lot of gear and I also have the front handlebar bag as well you can not go wrong with this setup and I also pull a BoB Trailer with the right gearing you can go up any hill with no problem at all you just have to be careful how fast you go down a hill with the BoB Trailer you are pulling.Carradice makes the best for touring I think.

Thanks Dylan I'm a big advocate of Carradice gear. I've got these F + R for our tandem. Solid bags. I wondering what your rack tube diameter is on that Black Mountain? I'm aiming to fit my Super C's to a 16mm rack, so possibly a bit bigger . I have ordered adaptors from Carradice just to make sure, but wondering what the maximum fitting is WITHOUT these?

My rack tube is 10mm. without the spacer I measured the gap with some callipers and it was about 11.6mm. Hope this helps!

I did use the bags on a Tout Terrain Silkroad mk1 that had the rack built into the frame and these were quite wide but I can’t remember the size.

I’ve bought a pair of these and am struggling with the installation - can’t find owt online. When you say the screws bite on, should I just screw them in so that they’re pressing against the aluminium? Im scared of damaging it. Thanks!

Hi, so I can assist you further which parts are you screwing together. If you are referring to the clips that the bags hang in the rail with they just need to bite in to the metal. You will not put them all the way through.
