He’s a fraud system player who needs a super team and unlimited space to perform. He will never lead a team he’s just a cog in a system. Man city have won the league with him being injured a whole season. If Salah, Messi, Neymar, mbappe, lewandowski, and even ozil in his prime were injured a whole season the teams they play for will have a 0% chance to win a major trophy . It's kinda weird comparing very different midfielders but KDB is easily the best of his generation hands down but I can't see what he does better than the other Premier League greats Scholes had better passing. Lampard was a better goalscorer and Gerrard was a more complete midfielder. Not to mention all of those players were from the same era and there was plenty of world class midfielders throughout the 2000's so the competition was so much higher. De Bruyne is great but how many other midfielders are at thag same level at the moment? I rate De Bruyne massively but I'm struggling to see how he is better than any of the current Top 3

Unreal shooting with both legs, pace with the ball changing the pace, passing absolutely unique and breathtaking, crossing the best I've ever seen in my life and work rate. Honestly if de bruyne has a UCL and a World Cup we would all admit he’s the greatest midfielder ever look at modric I hugely respect him genuinely modric is a top 5 mid for me all time and de bruyne needs a UCL to get in there for me but de bruyne is the greatest crosser of all time, he has a hell of a long shot, he’s a good ball carrier to take the ball forward into attacking positions, he has tremendous vision, through balls, both feet, even defensively he isn’t lacking too much there’s not much de bruyne needs oh and consistently scoring and assisting in the hardest league even as a utd fan I must admit he is insane and for me he is probably above Scholes, Gerard, Lampard and even worldwide maybe Zizou although they are different play styles

During his time at Man City, he has been deployed as CM, AMC, LM, RM, RW, LW and even as CF. And when it comes to goals and assists, he has actually delivered in all of those roles. The luxury that Man City have is that when he gets older and maybe doesn't offer the same mobility, they can use him in the Fernandinho/Rodri role as well as even in the Messi role as long as the other 9 outfield players work around him. Because as long as he has the ball at his feet, he will always produce.

If you were to build a new team and could pick anyone I'd start in the middle with KDB. Nice to have Haaland, of course, but KDB is the guy that sets things up. The only one I can think of that has that kind of impact in the middle doesn't actually play in mid-field, last season Harry Kane had a slow start for scoring but by mid season his link play from the middle was incredible -- the header tip pass to, was it Bergwijn, his passing is insane.

I love Kane. Both linkup wise and numbers wise he's phenomenal. But sometimes it feels there's games he just ghosts through. Never get that impression with De Bruyne. And it also feels like Haaland has less of those games too - but obviously Haaland doesn't drop deep like Kane does but he nearly always impacts the game in the final third.

I don't think he or any of the Spurs are having a great season so far and as a Spurs fan I hope that changes. Interesting that the season ended with Arsenal choking against Spurs then losing the next week giving 4th to Tottenham, but this season has been so different. The Gunners looked great in preseason and have been on fire from the start -- hard to see them actually beating City to the title, but it isn't out of the question. Amazing to think there were a lot of Arsenal fans that wanted to sack Arteta every time they lost a game last season.

You could be the best crosser in the world but if other players are more complete than you they could be better. De Bruyne is a complete passer and midfielder in general which is what makes him the best midfielder in the world. Trent is a brilliant crosser but lacks in other areas compared to the players he's competing against. James is good at everything got example. So even if Trent is the best crosser in the world that doesn't guarentee him a start for England.

Have to say de bruyne is the best City player. They are not as good without him. All good having Mobile attackers that will Find space but KDB finds them all the time. Best crosser since Beckham and as a midfielder there is not a pass that he can’t play. So good, his passing is almost a cheat code for football. What a player.

People sometimes give him a bit too much credit and act like he's the sole reason they've won 4 of the last 5 leagues. Honestly for me the biggest reason for City's dominance is Pep. As a belgian i can definitely say he usually doesn't put in the same effort ever since 2018. Mostly because he doesn't have faith in the manager but seemingly also most of the players. The only times KDB actually plays really well for Belgium is when he's on the pitch together with Lukaku, who is i'd say our best player for the national team. People will banter him but his numbers don't lie and on the pitch he's one of the smartest strikers especially when linked up with De Bruyne.
