I watched every video I could find on the Carrera Panamericana historic road race for the last decade. Started in 1950 to celebrate Mexico's completion of their stretch of the Pan American highway, from the USA to Guatemala. My lifetime favorite car is the 1953 Studebaker sedan. It is one of the favorite cars to race here. They do have modern racing running gear. Hope they can keep it going forever.

There used to be another race the wine road out of ensenada to mexicala. Ford and Porsche used to run it theres still a few old 356 four cams running around Ensenada and old mustangs

I've looked for some history on that race. So Cal has a long history of Porsche 356 culture. I can think of two people, Rod Emory and John Bennet, who might know the story. Or maybe it's lost to time.

@DrivingLaCarrera retired mechanic from rusnak porsche in pasaden .lives out Temecula. Has a photo scrapbook..meet him by chance still had his race prepped fastback mustang....lost his number over the years. Maybe someone out there recalls him
