I graduated high school in '76 and saw this when it opened. We loved it! It was different than anything else up to that point. The ending, which is legendary, made the entire theater jump out of seats. FANTASTIC! Sissy , Piper, and the rest of the gang were outstanding.

I keep pointing out that I've only recently got into horror so this is still on my list of things to watch. You have such a warm way of presenting things and all the behind the scenes stuff really adds context to the movie. Behind the scenes is really how I got into horror anyway. I'm a child of the 80's and love sci-fi, Sci -fi and horror have a strong tradition of practical special effects and that's what I've always been interested in. A love movies like Alien and The Thing but always saw them as Sci-fi rather than horror.

One thing I noticed, that has departed form your other Retrospectives, is that you didn't do the "where are they now" part, with the actors. You touched on it during it, for a few, but that was it. Have you dropped that part of these, or has it just ended up on the cutting room floor, for time?

Definitely a conscious choice to drop that moving forward. I'd rather present information that is less accessible and focus on the film in question (and its sequels remakes etc.) Anyway, people can do a quick IMDB search for all that other info. Also helps keep the run time down, although ironically this is my longest video to date I think 🤣 Thanks so much for watching!
